| Skin Issues? Hello there Yorkie Moms, I have a question about some skin issues my sweet baby girl is experiencing. My girl has a few sores... one on her chest and one on her back leg. It's nothing deep, but just red with some dry skin. She picks at the one on her back leg pretty regularly. Any advice for what I can do to treat these? |

| My pup had a couple spots like this when I got her. You will need to take her to the vet and if it is an infection, like it sounds like, she will need antibiotics. Especially if she is biting at it, like my Lexi did, it will only make the spot worse. Wanted to add that it's called pyoderma if you want to look it up. Even if it's not pyoderma, you still need at have it looked at by a vet because it could be a number of things. Last edited by kreuer; 12-07-2014 at 10:24 AM. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | This sounds like pyoderma (staph intermedius) and has to be treated w/ prescription medicine. It will spread otherwise. If it's only local to 2 spot, you may be able to still treat it topically - otherwise you'd use Simplicef orally, from the vet.
