| Anxiety, vomiting? I am out of ideas. My little Mitsi is 5 years old and in good health, but over the past few weeks She has been vomiting up yellow foam. At First I thought She was eating grass but it happens more than when She goes outside. Shes been to the vet 3 times(Apparently for Her age She has fabulous knees), they said it was her nerves. Whenever I leave the House She SHAKES like crazy and when I come Home She shakes and vomits then runs around and acts fine and dandy even eating food. Honestly I am out of Ideas on what to do to help Her, I had sedatives for her and they help but I hate the idea of her having to take them whenever I leave the House. Any other Yorkie Moms had this problem? Tips advice? Anyways, Thank You so so much for reading this and taking time to reply! |

| Poor Mitsi. Since she has always suffered nervousness about going outside, but the vomiting is a new development, I would not be inclined to attribute it to nerves. Is the grass eating new or has she always done this? How long has she been taking the anti-anxiety meds? You wrote that they helped, but is there any correlation with the days she vomits? Any changes in diet? New food or treats? Change in feeding schedule? Did anything happen outdoors recently that would make her even more fearful? I associate yellow foam vomit mostly with hunger. When Teddy was a pup, if he went too long without food, he would vomit yellow foam. This often happened in the morning. When I started giving him a few kibble late at night, it solved the problem.

| Have you been leaving her alone more often? Kaji has the same thing where he will throw up due to anxiety. The vet is aware, so she will give him car sickness pills to help him while he adjusts to our new schedule or when I stop giving it to him when. I get back from my trip. He usually gets better once I'm home or after we establish the new routine.

| Have you tried an actual anxiety medicine? One for separation anxiety?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | She could also have reflux going on - in which case you'd give Pepcid. Many dogs here have to take it for this reason.

| She usually pukes and then eats. She is a very funny eater so I leave food out for Her all day, the vet recommended that instead of a schedule since She grazes like a little cow haha. |

| The good thing is the vet is aware and is working with you. It really must be your schedule's fluctuations that triggers her anxiety. She doesn't really know when to expect you home and that possibly bothers her. I know that's what it is with my little man. Hugs to you! You're not alone. I went/am going through the same thing with Kaji. It's not easy, and I understand feeling like a bad person for not giving them that security they crave. It will get better though! After the craziness of college, once you have a set job with a clear schedule, they do get use to it. They'll know when to expect you home and that security really helps calm their nerves.
