| Seperation Anxiety Hello I have a yorkie suffering seperation anxiety. I had her since April 2014 and walk her twice a day. She was 4 months when I got her and now she is 8.5 months almost and she is having severe behaverial problems where she is not eating her food...tearing everything up...she pooped on my bed 3 x last week which she never did....she looks at me and pees right on floor which she was 110% weewee pad trained from day 3 (strange as yorkies never hardly get trained that easy). I work so I leave the house at 740 and return by 445pm. She is put away in entire kitchen and foyer which is a huge huge size with toys.....open cage....bed...water...food. As soon as I come home I kiss her and hold her but then I get dressed and an hour later I hit the gym for 1 hour. By the time I get home she has torn everything up and is sad. I feel her sadness and per condo stupid laws they do not allow more than 1 dog. Ive owned yorkies all of my life so unless you are at home all day these dogs need a companion. I even bought new toys but do not know what else to do. Any suggestions because if not will have to rehome to a good family with other dogs or kids. She loves loves other dogs and people...kids...etc. Yorkies are very unique and also need playmates but I did not know this after my purchase that the condo allowed only 1. Out of options please help as she is very sad. |

| Hi and welcome to YT. I know I work long days as well. I or my boyfriend go home and visit at lunch time and try and tag team so he is not left alone every day. Do you go to the gym every day after work? Perhaps you could do exercises outdoors and bring your Yorkie with you. You can do free weights at home and go for walks instead of the treadmill. Could you hire a pet walker to come in and visit for a hour a day say at lunch time. You Yorkie is showing you how lonely and bored they are by acting out. Is there a doggie day care for small dogs near you. New toys with no one to play with is not much fun. I feel for you but you need to modify your schedule to find more time. I apologize if I sound mean but only you can fix this by finding more time or a companion to visit.

| Ty Ty Buster but I already overconsumed my life for my dog. I dropped out of working out period and was walking in her stroller around the block detrimenting my building goals. Did this for 5 months so I need to crank it up as going to compete again. I figured since she is 8.5 months now I can actually have back a bit of my life as some people work 12 hr days and I work 8.5 hrs then gym. Usually I always have 2 dogs but these stupid condo rules allow for one. I do rather 2 to be honest and might think about moving which is $$$$$6k for my dog that I can afford but its a lot over a dog period to get her a playmate. I am looking into dog play places but they open late and I am at work by 745am then they say no fleas and she always have a few which been using frontline and advantix GONE for 2 weeks but back in blast due to she is a gold yorkie and its a mess as was investigating this whole scenerio. Dog walker do not trust after my cleaning lady this year wiped me out clean on all my jewelry(police and all were involved). I will look into more of those pet places but they open a bit late and some ofthem are theives. Like why do I have to pay $20 for a bath to put her in day care and pay extra $35 on top. Ridiculous I need to put my funds and invest in this. I appreciate your help)))))) |

| It is so hard trying to balance a life with a needy Yorkie. You really have tried to accommodate your baby. Sorry about the cleaning lady... I was burglarized a few years ago and completely understand feeling violated and not trusting people in your house. Buster had a a really bad episode with kennel cough and I almost lost him so we avoid day care and have him groomed at home. It is amazing how we change our lives to adapt to this darling little terriers. I hope your little girl starts calming down and you get a break from feeling guilty. You really are being a good MOM. Best wishes.
