| hello everyone, I am new to the forum, and a brand new yorkie mom. my Lily is just 13 weeks old. I have had her for a week now and 3 days ago she started scratching behind her ears, chewing her feet, and around her tail. the vet said it could be allergy to wheat so had me switch to gluten free food. Started her on the new food Saturday and she is still scratching a lot, and she is also losing small amounts of hair. anyone else experience this? thanks |

| YT 500 Club Member | Some vets say they can not have allergies this young but i am seeing more and more dogs that do. Unfortunately it is very hard to tell what they are alergic too. Could be food or environment. My dog is 5 months old and itchy and I put him on zyrtec once a day. I hear it takes 14 days to work. He still itches but not as much. Mine also does this quick cough sometimes when drinking or playing hard. So trying to figure out if that is allergy related. your puppy might be too young for zyrtec so ask your vet. |

| My vet said she is too young for Benadryl, so I am sure she couldn't do zyrtec either. wish she could. have tried the oatmeal shampoo. doesn't really help much. thanks for response |
