| Billi uses Heartgard Plus for small dogs and Iverhart. The reason for 2 is because some months she will take her Heartgard, and others she won't. When she doesn't, I give her the Iverhart which is a total PITA and an event in itself- gotta crush it, mix with food and feed it by hand over the course of the day. She's a princess. ![]() I use Frontline + for under 10lbs. I use 1 drop every 2 weeks since I bathe her so frequently. I am interested in learning more about Revolution though, since I've heard so many good things about it here.

| Sorry moma II. I forgot that you asked about something for heart worms. When I posted, I knew you had said that you had Heart Guard. That's what I give Gibby. My mistake! You should always get your prescription meds from your vet and never buy the over the counter stuff that you can get from your vet if she suggests something. Always do as your vet suggest! |

![]() I do feed mine the whole Heartgard chew but have never felt good about it because it says "Up to 25 pounds". Mickey is only 7 and Max is only 8 pounds. For feas and ticks- One reson why I give them k-9 Advantix is because of availability of smaller dog dose. Just wondering...

It's for dogs 4.4 to 9.9 lbs. You could give half a dose if the vet says it's okay. It's for fleas and ticks. We give Heartgaurd, a chewable, for heart worm.

| My Cali is 3 1/2 pounds and has taken Revolution most of her life (she is 6). It clearly states in the literature that it is for fleas, heart worms, sarcastic mange and ticks. We have never had any problems with it over the years and it works well.

| My vet gave me a sample of Revolution for my Lola since she was only 2 lbs on the dot. She said after she reached 3 lbs she could go on Advantix Multi, which she said they perform about the same, but advantix is slightly cheaper!! My Coco was on advantix multi (she was a 7 pounder) and never had any reaction or sensitivity to it! We are in the south so pests are a problem almost year round! |

I can not imagine what your vet is implying when he says it is not an approved heartworm medication?????? HE may not approve Revolution for whatever reason, but it is a great preventative, and as long as it is applied correctly by the owner, ie, directly onto the skin, it is VERY effective. I have used Revolution for years on my dogs, with excellent effective protection. Here in Texas, we are EATEN up by mosquitoes, so it obviously works very well! My own vet used to not "recommend" it because she said owners do not apply topicals correctly and that is what makes them ineffective...it MUST go directly onto the skin and not just dropped onto the hair at the shoulder blades. Our tiny little adults tolerate it beautifully...I get the weight appropriate dose for tiny dogs.....I send all my puppies home started on Revolution, because they have a dose for little puppies. | |

| Remy is on Revolution. It's really good for small dogs. I just applied it this month for the first time and he did not have any kind of reaction!
