| Cooling mats & vests My little guy loves to walk. I have bought him a cooling bandana to wear when we walk. With his harness not sure it is doing much good. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with cooling vests or cooling mats? If so what would you recommend? I'm more thinking a mat would be a better choice. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I've heard the cooling vests can really work quite well, though I've never used one...

| I have a couple of cooling mats for ZoE. A smaller one that I put in her stroller during outings on hot days, and a larger one for home. They are cool not cold. She will lay on it when she's warm, but if she's really hot, she prefers to go lay on the marble floor of the bathroom. Here's ZoE on her big mat. I ordered it from Fosters & Smithh.

| I bought a cooling mat and returned it. It would barely get cool. I also bought one of the cooling things that velcroed around the tummy, that didn't work to well either. I bought a mist and sip at Academy. I don't drink out of it but the mist is a fine mist and my two don't mind getting misted on the back and chest with it. It works great for when we are out walking. At home they go for the tile floor to cool off.

| Oops, that other pic is actually Zo on the little cooling mat that I use in her stroller. Here is ZoE outside on her large cooling mat. She has plenty of room to stretch out. She will consistently choose to lay on this on the patio, rather than in the grass, under the shade of a tree, so she must like it.

| I got Katie a Hurrta cooling vest.. It definitely made a difference in how long Katie was able to walk without panting. We usually walk at least a couple of miles each walk, but that's only mornings and evenings now because of the heat. I purchased mine from Eurodesigndog.com. I use Havanese10 to get a 10% discount. Katja knows that Katie is a Yorkie, and she's very helpful. Hurtta Cooling Vest You can also get it at GW Little. Dog Cooling Vest - Hurtta Pro Collection

| Thank you for the link for the vest. I ordered one for Gus. I also sent info to my daughter that has a Pom. We picked up a cooling mat but so far he has no interest. I do think the vest will be great for walks. The bandana I picked up really doesn't work well and is heavy around his neck. |

I remember trying to leave a review on their site (after repeatedly being asked by them via email to review it) and after I submitted a negative review they emailed me and said the review did not meet their guidelines and wouldn't be posted. Then after a few days I would get another email asking me to review! This went on I think three cycles. I've never shopped there again since.

| Has anyone tried one of those cooling towels for their dog? The kind they show on TV where you wet it, wring it out, and snap it? Like this Enduracool Towel by Mission | DICK'S Sporting Goods |
