![]() You're right about the human supplements, I rather not tamper with that because it's too confusing rather than just buying an all-in-one. What do you cook for the week.. like a meal example? I looked at recipes on the websites you provided me before and it seems like I can add vegetables with a protein source such as chicken + the balanceit and that would make a balanced meal? I came across this recipe Homemade Dog Food Recipe - Allrecipes.com and just wanted to know if this would become balanced with the supplement? (Minus the rosemary, I probably wouldn't use that) By the way, I admire your dedication to home cooking for your yorkies, it takes a lot of work and dedication as I can see.. most people will not do it because it's definitely more convenient to just scoop a bowl of dry food. I told a friend with a dog that I want to home cook and I was looked at as if I'm crazy, lol.

| I forgot to ask.. which bottle do you buy from the website? I see that it says Canine-K can be used with homemade recipes. Is this the one you buy? Also, do I need to buy the green bottle that has DHA and omega-3? There's so many on the site - I'm not sure how to choose.

| BalanceIt K is a prescription-only product (or was when I used it). It is not for healthy dogs. The BI Canine is fine. For puppies balancing is very important. A nutritionist may need to create the recipe. As Cathy said the current diet is unsafe for long-term use. Homecooked food that is unbalanced should not make up more than 10% of a dog's diet. This includes treats.
