| Suggestions on what brand to feed puppy Hi all! I'm new to the site so pls excuse me if I'm not "doing" this right We just added a new addition to our family...A morkie (14wks) who we named Gracie! We are just over the moon about her! She's such a sweetie Although I've had dogs my whole life, I've never had such a small breed. I already spent a few paychecks on grooming supplies!! She has to look good which I know is majorly due to how she's feeling and doing on the inside...My vet gave me some brands but explained that the food should be approved by the AAFCO. I would really like to give her something specific to her breed(s), size and her coat. Could any of you give me some suggestions on what you think would be the best food to feed her? Wet? Dry? Both? Supplements? Homemade? What to stay away from? etc... I would greatly appreciate it! I'm so in love and like all of us, I want the best for her Thank you in advance! Sincerely ~Rachel (Gracie 14wks- Morkie) |

| Oh my gosh Gracie is so adorable and already looking fabulous! As far as food goes, I feed pretty much all of the above between my pups lol! Toki now eats primarily wet food (either canned or homemade) and Teddy eats kibble with fresh toppers, freeze-dried, and/or wet food. When Toki was a puppy, I fed her kibble with a maybe a tiny bit of canned food-it was Blue Buffalo Life Protection for Small Breed Puppies and eventually I switched her to BB Wilderness for puppies and she did very well on both. I got Teddy when he was around 10 months old and ended up feeding him Wellness Core Ocean (they have a puppy formula if you prefer to feed that)...Teddy's coat improved tremendously on this food. Other brands I like are Fromm, Acana, and Earthborn...most of their formulas are for all life stages (these three brands you'll only be able to find at independent pet stores, not at most big box pet stores). There are a lot of good options out there and I'm sure you'll get many other recommendations |

| Gracie is a cutie patootie! There is no "best" food as all our pups are different and what may work for me, may not work for you. Many brands offer well balanced and nutritious food in various forms. You can check out dogfoodadvisor.com, that site has reviews of dry, wet, and raw foods. With so many brands and types of food, it can be daunting! Omega supplements help with coat and skin. My Choo Choo had dry skin, so she got an omega pill everyday and it helped. Sachi has a nice coat with no additional supplements to her diet. Before giving any supplement, you should speak to your Vet first. Choo Choo ate Orijen Kibble and Sachi is on a premade raw diet (Primal Brand). Certain foods are toxic, like chocolate and raisins. Definitely do some research on these if you are not familiar with them. Last but not least, WELCOME to the forum!

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I like Wellness. They have puppy food and it is high quality dog food. Check it out and see the good ingredients that are in there. My old poodle breeder of show dogs feed this food. Dogs coats look good and their poop is the right consistency. I really like it and my fellas eat it with no problems. |
