There is no "best" food as all our pups are different and what may work for me, may not work for you. Many brands offer well balanced and nutritious food in various forms. You can check out dogfoodadvisor.com, that site has reviews of dry, wet, and raw foods. With so many brands and types of food, it can be daunting!
Omega supplements help with coat and skin. My Choo Choo had dry skin, so she got an omega pill everyday and it helped. Sachi has a nice coat with no additional supplements to her diet. Before giving any supplement, you should speak to your Vet first. Choo Choo ate Orijen Kibble and Sachi is on a premade raw diet (Primal Brand).
Certain foods are toxic, like chocolate and raisins. Definitely do some research on these if you are not familiar with them.
