| My Last Food Post, I Promise. Help :( Here I go... The breeder was feeding my puppy Science Diet mixed with a little Pedigree Little champions chicken wet food. I bought some Science Diet and starting mixing it with Eukanuba because I thought it would be better than that nasty Science Diet. I finally just had him eating Eukanuba. He loved Eukanuba, but I starting mixing that with Nutro small breed puppy after two weeks because I read on here and other places that all the wheat/corn products are bad for the dogs and Nutro didn't have any. Stewie despises Nutro. He turns his nose up at it and will pick around it. I think that he would honestly rather starve than eat it. So... yesterday I bought another bag of Eukanuba small breed and gave him both Nutro & Eukanuba mixed together. I feel badly about mixing them and changing again, but I want him to want to eat. He scarfed it down, picking out the Eukanuba kibble and leaving the Nutro rings behind. Sorry this is so long, but I don't know what the hell else to do... what other foods out there are not astronomical in price (poor college student here!)? Or should I just keep with the Eukanuba? I am looking around online, but haven't found any good info. I trust you guys to help me out! Forgot to mention that whenever he would eat the Nutro alone, his poop was very very runny and soft. He woudl go on his pee pad, but then walk around while squatting trying to get the rest out. I would have to follow him with a paper towel

| I'm giving mine natural balance which you can buy at petco, 6.99 5lb bag and I think 21.00 for a 17lb bag. Heres the website.. http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/products/UltDog.html Heres another website you could use to compare foods and you can click on the ingredients to see a description of what they actually are. http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=comp-wiz I wish you the best with your puppy and maybe you may end up having to stick with the Eukanuba, the important thing is that he eats : ) |

| Mine is a picky eater too. I tried to feed her Nutro Ultra puppy and she wasn't crazy about it, the kibble was too big and hard to her to chew. Give Royal Canin Mini Puppy a try, there is no whole corn (there is corn gluten meal but puppies can digest that and it does not lower the quality of the food)...check out tons of great info on their website www.caninehealthnutrition.com) When Brady gets older I am seriously considering Canidae... www.canidae.com I don't recommend Wellness, Brady hated the taste and texture... There are a ton of great foods out there. When Brady is older I'm also going to try out the Fromm's Four Star Nutionals.... |

| Hi, I use Natures receipe breed specific, and it's a manged protein formula it runs around 9.99 and when I first brought my puppie home with advice from the breeder that I will have bouts with loose or discolored stools once his diet is changed, This was my first choice and Sami's stools are fine never had a problem. good luck |

| I just recently had to switch Sandy from the regular Nutro Ultra, to the Weight Control one and she was NOT happy about it. I too did the mixing thing, and she was picking out her old food, then plain stopped eating. I read on a thread here to stick it in the microwave for 10 seconds to enhance the scent, and that did the trick for her. Now she scarfs it down like it's fresh chicken

| A quality food doesn't need a puppy food. Everything is in there that they need. Of course they eat more often. No matter how good the food is though if your puppy won't eat it then its no good. Mine won't go near solid gold. If you shred the natural balance rolls and moisten with warm water and put over the food I bet they would eat it. Its smells like people food. |

| Lil Bit was driving me crazy with either not eating or eating stuff I did not want to feed her.....she kept wanting me to put canned stuff with the dry food .........She kept runny poops for over a month..likely me changing her food every other day... I also gave Lil Bit eukanuba petit because the kibble is so small and I thought it would be easier to chew.....that worked for about a day or 2....she went back to "picky".... I finally decided she was going to eat a good food and the food would be MY choosing....... I like Pro Plan puppy (for small breeds) I get it at PetSmart...8# jug $6.99 also have.......20 # bag for $19.99 compared to eukanuba petit 4# for $6.99 not much but a bit of savings....the Pro Plan works well....she can chew it and her poops are normal...(after the worming for tapeworms!!!) If she takes a really picky spell I do add a FEW DROPS of Iams savory sauce (puppy) and heat it briefly....like 5 seconds! and if she does not eat....oh, well,....the chihuahua and greyhound take care of any leftovers!!!!!!! (I kept the eukanuba petit for treats for the greyhound....she LOVES IT!!!!! ..........but she will eat anything!!!) |

| Gucci is picky too, I have been feeding her Eukanuba and she got tired of that so I purchased the Eukanuba lamb and rice. She likes that but I have to mix with Authority chicken can food or she wont eat it much. She also likes bananas , so I mix in a little piece every morning and this is the way I can her to eat. When I mix in the can food I heat it in the microwave for 10 sec. to make it warm and she eats most of it... Hope this helped... |

| I feed Innova EVO to Gracie but prior to that I fed Royal Canin Mini Puppy 33 and after researching foods Royal Canin is not top but it is close and I would recommmend it if you are on a budget. Natural Balance I also fed Gracie....it was the Duck and Potato...our vet thought she may have allergies due to all her ear infections so we started feeding her this allergy formula the only problem is that Natural Balance has too large of pieces for my Yorkies mouth so I went back to Innova and she is doing well. I would definately recommend Royal Canin for you it is cost affordable and also has a specific breed line of foods. |

| Thanks. I will check the pet store for Royal Canin. Stewball starts Puppy Kindergarten on Thursday and hopefully I can pick some up then. Also... we just got a new microwave and I put his food in there for 7 seconds thinking that it would be luke warm. Like a moron, I didn't check it, put it on the floor and he took a little bit and ran away because it was too hot. BAD MOMMY!
