| I called around a few days ago to get pricing and the clinic that I have heard so many good things about is the cheapest and $264. That includes the pre-anesthesia workup, IV fluids, and cleaning. Any extractions would be $10 per tooth. I thought that was a pretty good price.

| Cooper had a cleaning in August. It was $85 which I thought was extremely reasonable considering what I've read. |

| Just had one done 3 weeks ago. It was $218, including a CBC and antibiotics to take home. Cleaning and no extractions. He had already had a senior panel done 6 months prior, and though I had requested another one be done, my vet recommended a CBC for this procedure. That saved about $100.

| I think you have enough money for the dental plus extractions. With pre-anesthetic blood work and that many extractions I would guestimate the cost to be $500 to a $1000 dollars. Cost can vary wildly from region to region. Yes technicians do the dental cleanings but in most states, a veterinarian has to perform the extractions (it's surgery!) and regardless if there are extractions or not, a veterinarian should ALWAYS look in the mouth and review the "dental", especially with a case like your JRT who needs more than just a simple cleaning. Your veterinarian needs to examine the dental structure to identify areas of dental disease that are severe enough to warrant extractions. Some teeth are obvious but some are not. Sometimes antibiotics are needed as well and only a veterinarian can prescribe this not a technician. |

| Glad the dental went well and way way below budget! You can use rinses, gels, sprays and dental chews to help keep the tarter away since brushing will be a challenge for you. Being charged to place a muzzle is insane and I would NOT pay that! |
