| I've tried the Hartz' Dentist's Best with dental twists sticks (beef flavor), Oreo seems to like them and there not very expensive. I also purchased Nutri Dent (Edible Dental Chews) from Nylabone (Small Petite) but I haven't given him one yet, any feedback on these? TJ |

| If I was feeding something that a company's products had killed and made other pets sick I would want to know because I would not want to be feeding my dog something that could hurt them and I would not want to support that company.

| I understand what you are saying but you mentioned nothing about the other brand I made note of. I will look into hartz and see the details of this product. |

| Yes, we've used greenies. My dogs tend to scarf stuff down or battle with each other for things like this so we don't do any edible chews anymore. I liked greenies as they are a VOHC accepted product shown to help with tartar on the teeth. I don't think they are a choking hazard any more than any other edible chew.

| I think my biggest concern was that greenies where said to expand in the dogs stomach and intestens. I read some where someone took a piece and put it in a cup of water and it expanded like rawhide does.

| I thought that was really old news and that they changed the formula. I have not noticed digestibility issues when using them in the past, but every dog is different so who knows. I'm not using them for other reasons (dog spats, resource guarding, etc).

| It bothers me that they apparently didn't test what they would do to the dogs bodies or even putting it in a cup of water to make sure it does not expand before putting it on the market the first time so it would be hard for me to trust them.

| I used to give Greenies and I won't anymore. I have had to pick out chunks of greenies that get caught in my dogs cheeks more than once and he was chewing on a Greenie right before he had his first "health episode." We still aren't sure what they are so I don't know what to call them...but I am pretty sure the Greenie brought it on. I've tried the "Get Naked" chews with my older guy who is obsessed with Dentastix and he won't eat them. I figured he'd love them because they look the same, but NOPE. I would LOVE to wean him off the Dentastix and onto something else but he just won't have it. My boys are VERY picky!! They won't eat bully sticks...they won't eat anything nylabone....and they turn their nose up at almost all treats. I did find some Dingo treats that were shaped like bacon but they last a lot longer than the beggin strips bacon and they did like those and it did take them a while for them to chew...but I am just not sure about Dingo....they seem like they may be junk food for them. Blue Buffalo makes something that is similar to a greenie, but I don't know how they are. Has anyone tried them?? I would totally steer clear of the Greenies though!! | Just wanted to share Turbo's Greenie scare. When he was a puppy, the lady taking care of him & Princess used to give them greenies...I was over visiting them & he just chewed a few x's & swallowed it, was done in 5 seconds! I got so scared, thought he'd choke or something. Told my friend not to give it to them anymore, that thing didn't last long enough to even clean his teeth. First of all, I think it's too soft, for a strong chewer, it doesn't last very long. 2ndly, it is a choking hazard bc chunks of it can be chewed off. Even if they changed the formula & improved it, I wouldn't use it.

| Billi has always gotten bully sticks & dentastix and is doing great on them. After everything I've heard about greenies and rawhide, I have a hard time giving her anything else that hasn't been fully checked out for little dogs.
