| Yep, normal. Even more often if he is a puppy. My adult will go 6-8 hours without peeing if necessary (like during the night) but will go every time I let her out even if it is every hour.

| Same with Wosie I take her out every couple hours, whether I think she needs to go or not. She's only 6 months old and we are working on reinforcing potty training (no accidents for the past two days, YIPPEE) and she does pee pee on command. Sometimes it's a good puddle, other times just a few drops, but she loves the praise and the treat when we go in!

| Sure am glad im not the only one We felt that we took out our little Parker every time we turned around....becuase he was peeing on our floor. So with our new little Maggie coming home that is one thing that we are NOT looking forward too!!! But it will work out just fine. From our understanding if you put down food and water at certain times during the day that will help with that problem. But on the other side i have heard that it is good for a Yorkie to be able to drink when they need too????

| My dog is young (14 weeks) and probably goes oftener than he will when he's an adult. But - I notice quite a variance in my dog. Sometimes he will go hours, and other times he will go twice in an hour. Perhaps he has more water at times. Whatever -- I am sure there is no fast rule. We people vary somewhat also - depending on our food and water intake. Carol Jean |

| Pp I never thought about how often Chloe went until I read this. We have a winner. She has times she is going every 5 minutes(when wee wee pads are available) If I don't make the wee wee pad available, she holds it (maybe the scent makes her go more often?) She will pee on command as well (she fakes it to get a treat!) During the part of the day when she plays hard, she drinks more then goes more. During the part of the day we visit my daughter & her 2 fur-kids, Chloe gets a work out, drinks the most then P's the most. During the warmer weather she went more, after we play & run she drinks & goes more. She can hold it up to 12 hours in her crate but luckily doesn't have to wait that long often. However, she has a problem with hard B.M., which I am not sure is typical for a Yorkie??? You would think since she is so active, she would never have a hard B.M. or be constipated. |

| That is too funny! I did not know dogs could fake goin pee. My shih-tzu's ring their bell at the door to go outside. Sometimes they just ring it to out and don't do anything. |

| My Lexie squats when she wants me to think she peed to get her treats before bed. I have learned to give her a new potty pad every night before bed so I can know she used it for a reward. lol

| Samson is now 10 mo. and still seems to pee about every hour. We thought maybe something was wrong so we had him checked for a UTI just in case. He didn't exactly have one but they said there was a little bacteria in his urine that could turn into an infection so we gave him antibiotics. But overall his schedule has never changed and he pretty much has always seemed to have to go often so I don't know if after he gets older it will get better or not. He's fine all night and when we are not home so I know he can hold it but if we're home and don't take him out when he barks, he'll just go in the house! |
