| Anyone feed Evangers? This might change your mind, it's shocking to say the least...to not have the named protein in the food that's on the label, but totally something else?! Evanger's Dog & Cat Food Company, Inc. 5/5/11 The owner of the company was thrown in jail for bribery & stealing gas! Owner of Evanger's Dog & Cat Food Co. busted for trying to bribe a witness - Poisoned Pets I'm trying to find another food, w/out potatoes & was reading up on Evangers & Great Life (Evangers makes them), so it's a no go. Great Life also had some negative drama, but can't remember what it was, read too many things & didn't bookmark it. Hard trying to find a grain free food w/out potatoes (& many other things, I am very particular about the ingredients)...I might have to home cook (w/the help of a vet nutritionist), I have no other choice!

| It's pretty shocking that a food labeled as lamb or duck actually doesn't have any lamb or duck in it. It's even dangerous! Too bad we have to investigate what we feed our pups these days. I always thought Evanger's was an excellent food. Thanks for the heads up.

| There are no laws regulating labeling of pet foods. It is considered a "self regulated" industry. They can leave things out or even put things on the label that are not there and no one is paying much attention. If you go on most pet food websites you find very little info about how the food is produced or where their ingredients are sourced from. Just a lot of hype about how great they are. |

| Another one made by Evangers: Wysong Au Jus canned food. This one took some digging to find out who makes it. Why can't the companies just list in their site who makes what. Quote:
