| Puppy Vaccine / Boosters Question My puppy, Lily, is 17 weeks old. She just got her 4th DHPP today and the vet recommended that she get one MORE! From everything I have seen it appears only 3-4 DHPP's are needed. He also recommended another Bordetella booster. This is when she got her vaccinations, what do you recommend? I didn't think she would need anything else until she was a year old and then maybe a DHPP booster at that point... 8 weeks - DHPP and Bordetella 11 weeks - DHPP 14 weeks - DHPP 16 weeks - Rabies 17 weeks - DHPP Also, she seems to enjoy the Heartgard Plus that she is on, and we are going to start her on Comfortis now that she can safely go outside without potentially catching Parvo lol, anyone have anything good/bad to say? He also said that she can go on Trifexis when she's at least 5 lbs (she's only 4 lbs now), what do you think about that? Thanks!! |

For flea/tick/heartworm control, I use Revolution, which is a monthly drop that contains one single medication, and can be used on dogs under 5 pounds in weight. | |

| You do NOT need any more vaccinations IMO... not at all. Her schedule was fine. I follow Dr. Dodd's vaccine protocol personally. Dr. Jean Dodds' Pet Health Resource Blog | Dr. Dodds' 2012 Canine Vaccination Protocol Heartguard Plus is perfect. One of the safest drugs out there! I use it monthly. I do not prefer the newer ones, or topicals, don't trust them enough... A few good previous threads on vaccines- http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-our-pets.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-vaccines.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...cinations.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...light=vaccines

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | She does not need another DHPP puppy shot, given what you posted.

| IMHO, she's had enough... and they were given too close together. Much safer (and more effective to wait 1 month in between any vaccine.

| That's interesting, my vet and prior to that, my breeder, said 3 weeks apart so I did them all exactly 3 weeks apart. They said it didn't have to be exact but I didn't want to chance it lol |
