| my 11 year old yorkie had four upper teeth pulled and now her entire face has changed. She appears to have an underbite and it is really upsetting to see. I know that her other health issues are far more important but I do not understand why when the dentist pulled the four upper middle teeth (that was literally sizes of pinheads) her entire face would change. I was told her upper lip is now indented and causing it to look like her bottom teeth are sticking out. I cant really understand how such tiny little top teeth can cause such a void. When I look at her gums they look the same. Again, I know this isn't life threatening but she just does not even look like the same dog. When I asked my vet why this would happen all he said was get her an implant in a sarcastic way. If it truly is available and wouldn't bother her in any way and didn't cost a fortune, I would. At times her tongue sticks out in the middle as well. That somehow doesn't bother us as much and it is only for seconds very rarely. Any thoughts other than get a grip and be thankful she isn't experiencing any more serious health issues, at the moment.. I would really appreciate it. We always thought of her as being so beautiful.. not that we would love her less, but her entire face has changed and it is just sad. I know that beauty is certainly not the important issue, so please do not bash me but we just miss her gorgeous "smile". Thank you so much and hope that some on the forum understand our feelings and that we do not love her any less... she is still our princess!!! |

| I know there are many with these dental issues but every time I look at her I feel so bad. We call her rocky instead of reese because she looks like a bulldog. That is fine I gues, in fact my daughter always wanted a bulldog, but I really loved how reese looked. I suppose these thirty extra pounds on me and my wrinkles and gd knows what else, comes with the territory of aging, I just didn't expect this when they rushed to take her four teeth out. At about 300 per tooth.. again the size of ant heads, I was shocked at that price and then to have her end up with an underbite was not too thrilling. I wish I still knew how to post a picture because I have a few beauties!!! Thanks and sorry for my stupidity, but she was suddenly doing so well, healthwise and then this.. |

| Hi no bashing from me.....I know that's a shock to see as Georgie had 8 teeth pulled (4 top and 4 bottom) at his dental last year It was funny too because they called after and said he had 8 teeth extracted as if it was no big deal. I responded with OMGOSH does he have any teeth left lol. His little tongue sticks out sometimes and I just tell him it gives him character (because he can be so vain at times lol) I am sure your baby still looks adorable and in time you won't even worry about it.

| Aww I’m sorry ((hugs)) I really don’t have much to say, other than I’m sorry she had to get those teeth pulled, but she is probably healthier because of it. It will probably take some getting used to, but like you said she is still your Princess.. and she is still beautiful.

| Our babies are getting older & they're so lucky they have us to love them forever. I'd love to see photos, but more importantly, can you explain the price you paid a bit more? (Holy cow!) Was it part of a routine cleaning? Did they do x-rays? I'm interested because I just had dentals done for my 2 & now another vet said both my dogs should have had x-rays & more in-depth work done. Geesh. Thank you for info you can give me on the work you had done. BTW, my little Dolly has lost 3 top front teeth & I haven't noticed a difference yet.
