| Carrageenan-Free Food List I did some research and was able to compile a list. There are not that many that do not have carrageenan as an ingredient but I hope this helps for some of you looking to eliminate this from your pets diet. If you have some to add, please do! Natures Variety Instinct Performatrin & Performatrin Ultra (Not Performatrin Natural) Precise Holistic Taste Of The Wild Natures Recipie (select cans) Nutro Ultra (Not Max or Natural Choice) Hill's Ideal Balance Simply Nourish Hill's Science Diet Savory Stews

| Is carrageenan limited to canned foods? Most sources I have read say that Fromm dry food does not contain it. I don't use canned food.

| I think it is in wet food mostly, it is for thickening.

| Thank you. I was surprised that my boys don't like canned food, which is fine because it is $$ especially when used as just a topper.

| Ya, I don’t give Peanut wet food either. The cans are always so big- I end up throwing 80% of it away. Plus, something about wet food gives me the willy’s LOL. I don’t like how it smells, and I hate when it gets on me LOL. I will just give Peanut some boiled shredded chicken instead!!

| Carrageenan, if it's going to be in pet food, will be in the canned & rolls. It's in a lot of processed people food too! Like cottage cheese, ice cream, turkey luncheon meat, soy milk, yogurt, the list goes on & on. I threw out all the above that was in our fridge after reading the ingredients & they all had carrageenan in it! If we eat all those foods w/carrageenan in it everyday, it will have a very negative affect on our health. My mom has knee problems from rheumatoid arthritis & carrageenan was making it worse. After getting rid of all the food w/carrageenan in it, (which she consumed everyday) her knees have been good! No more flare ups after having them 2-3 x's a week. She even got a brace for her knee from her doc but she has yet to use it! Here's a list I made awhile back that has no carrageenan in it for dog food, hope it helps. If you have cats, it also applies to them.: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...rrageenan.html

| Just a note to make sure you check your pets treats for it as well.
