YT 2000 Club Member | Allergy or sensitive tummy? What is the difference between an allergy & a sensitivity......or is there even a difference? Gemy said allergies don't develop until after 1 year of age, so what is it when a pup under a year gets diarrhea from a food? My vet says the same thing. Sorry if this is a really dumb question!

| I would think diarrhea would be a sign of sensitivity. Not sure. My boys do not tolerate things like peanut butter, green beans, apples. I think it is a sensitivity. They have diarrhea or painful gas with these things.

YT 2000 Club Member | So, a sensitivity is some thing their tummies can't tolerate. An allergy is what?

| I googled and I am wrong. Chronic diarrhea can be a sign of a food allergy. However, food allergies are more rare than environmental allergies. Dr. Google: Dogs With Food Allergies: Symptoms, Common Triggers, and More

Yorkie Yakker | With an allergic reaction it could be just hives and a lot of scratching OR much more dangerous ~ they could actually have more severe reaction, anaphylaxis shock, which is very scary and will require immediate emergency treatment. |

YT 2000 Club Member | That is a great article......genetics, enviroment and proteins can all be a cause for sensitivities. I am just trying to figure out why she is so sensitive.
