Allergy or sensitive tummy? What is the difference between an allergy & a sensitivity......or is there even a difference? Gemy said allergies don't develop until after 1 year of age, so what is it when a pup under a year gets diarrhea from a food? My vet says the same thing. Sorry if this is a really dumb question! :scratchhe |
I would think diarrhea would be a sign of sensitivity. Not sure. My boys do not tolerate things like peanut butter, green beans, apples. I think it is a sensitivity. They have diarrhea or painful gas with these things. |
So, a sensitivity is some thing their tummies can't tolerate. An allergy is what? |
I googled and I am wrong. Chronic diarrhea can be a sign of a food allergy. However, food allergies are more rare than environmental allergies. Dr. Google: Dogs With Food Allergies: Symptoms, Common Triggers, and More |

That is a great article......genetics, enviroment and proteins can all be a cause for sensitivities. I am just trying to figure out why she is so sensitive. |
