Brand of Dog Food? What kind of food do you guys buy for your Yorkie? We've gone through all sorts of wet foods, but Yoda seems to like Cesar the best. Some food he'll throw up the next day or not even eat! We mix it in with his dry food (name of that escapes me at the moment) and he'll usually pick out the good Cesar part. When he's really hungry, he'll eat the dry food. Dry food is left out all day for him to eat whenever he wants and the Cesar is mixed in for his dinner meal. Though occassionaly we do spoil him and give him a bit of chicken or whatever we are having that night.

Otis eats Royal Canin Mini for Yorkshire Terriers. He loves it! FastEddie, I used to mix Cesar in with Otis' dry food, too! He loved it, too, like Yoda. Then he started picking out the Cesar from the dry food, and it was worrying me because his teeth and jaws weren't getting the same amount of exercise if he were eating dry food. So I discontinued the wet food, and now I sprinkle some freeze-dried chicken liver on his dry food. You can buy it at the pet food store. Crush it really well, and blend it in. So now Otis chews his dry kibble, and I'm happy, and he's happy.

I use Cesar too. But I try to use it every other day or so. Yorkies are just too smart, if you have both Cesar and dry food out, they'll just find the Cesar and eat that.

Yes, I find if Yoda is hungry, he'll go for dry food during the day. Tho he is a very, very persistent beggar. And thus, we sometimes do give in. Hmm, I shall look into the liver food. I think he gets enough chomping done with his dry food along with his Greenies we give him.

Yorkie with bladder stones... Need advice on good food. I've read the messages on how your Yorkies seem to be pickie eaters as well. Tobi has always had issues with food. Does not like dry food, I have to cover it with something else (gravy, mighty dog roasted chicken &beef) and the wet food he won't even eat if it is not a touch warm. Even when I first brought him home the vet had me put him on beef &rice because he would not eat. He is now 6yrs. and overnight at the vets. He had an operation this afternoon where they removed 4 stones from his little bladder. Vet says stones usually come from what they eat which concerns me even more. So what now do I try to feed him. I heard that Royal Canin was good. Is it health wise? I see some of you feed them Caesar. I may try that as well. I find he gets board quick and will not eat the same thing day after day. My husband says he'll eat when he gets hungry enough but Tobi is stubborn he went two days without eating then I gave in. Any help or advise appreciated... I don't want him to end up with stones again. Thanks!

right now i'm feeding bunjee royal canin kibbles and meat roll from deli fresh. but i'm in the process of determine what to feed going forward. I'm getting samples from like 10 different companies and going to do a "taste test" amongst the 10 and may the better kibble win! i'm also testing out the natural balance meat roll and seeing if bunjee likes it. if so, then i'm going to switch to it instead. the meat roll choices are deli fresh, natural balance and pet botanica. but pet botanica already lost. bunjee won't eat those and i had to return the rest to petsmart.

I feed Tigger Royal Canin Puppy 33. He loves it. I don't use Ceaser because it has way too many by-products. I use Nutro Puppy wet food instead. It's all natural and is made with broth instead of "sufficent water for processing." like all the other wet foods have down for their first ingrediant on their wet food.

| My vet suggested Innova, but I could not find it anywhere around here. Even the authorized dealers didn't have any, so we bought Chicken Soup for her. She seems to love it. I mixed it in with the food she was on when we got her and she's picking the CS out

Donating YT 14K Club Member | My goodness! We've tried so many different types of foods...here goes... Science Diet (made them itch) Royal Canin Yorkshire (made them itch) Iams (won't go there!) Diamond Professional (did well on) Currently they are on Diamond Lamb & Rice. No itches but they don't seem to like it as much as the Diamond Professional. It came in a 45 pound bag so I've vaccumed sealed it in 5 lb bags. Gracie is on the Caesars right now 3 X a day mixed with her calcium tabs. She loves it!

Tobi's Home! Good news!!! Tobi is home from surgery:-) He will be sore for awhile but he is already wanting to play. He has to go back in 2wks to remove the stitches. Vet says they stones have been sent off and in about 2wks we should have test results back so that we know what the composite of the stones is so to better determine what type foods we should avoid. I wish now that he'd just lay down and take it easy but he is just happy to be home. I have other questions regarding Yorkies. Attitude? Tobi is not friendly like most Yorkies I have seen. He absolutely does not like kids which is not really to surprising but he does not like anyone other than me and my husband. He will actually bite. We have no kids and live out in the middle of no wheres so we get no company. I wander if I have kept him too sucluded from people. The vet has to muzzle the little guy to even give him his yearly shots. I know I feel I have spoiled him beyond recovery. Does anyone else have this problem? Also read one post on beware of owls, well beware of chicken hawks as well. One almost got Tobi when he was 1yrs. old. Thanks for all the advise!
