| Here is a website for you to do some research on regarding causes and solutions for Bladder Stones. http://dogs.about.com/cs/disableddog...der_stones.htm It will be very important to listen to what your vet tells you about what to feed your dog. In this case, from what I read none of the food we feed our Yorkies will work for you as Protein could be a contributor to your Bladder Stones. It appears you will have to have him on prescription food. Good Luck with your little one.

| Have also been on Iams, Eukanuba, Royal Canin, Puppy Chow, California Natural and now give them (4 yorkies) Canidae. They really like it, sometimes I add a little chick broth or canned Canidae, but I fed it to all of them and the dry skin went away, the itchies went away, the urinary bladder problems went away. I really like it and have been told by many dealers it's a really good food. Check out their website. |

| right now Siri is eating Eukanuba for small breed puppies. It is what his breeder had him started on...he seems to like it, but his favorite is in the morning because we mix it with wet food [just a little] thats when he eats the most...i really want to get him off the wet food completely, but he is smart and knows hes supposed to get it in the morning- its so weird. at any rate, i was wondering how you change their food? and at what age is good... hes 12 weeks. or do you guys think the eukanuba is good for him? i want to try the royal canin but the corn in it makes me a bit wary since i read they cant digest it very easily, but it seems to be everyones preference :}

| Royal Canin is definately not my favorite, I don't even recommend it. Loki is on Canidae and I would also recommend Natural Balance, Innova, Wellness, Chicken Soup... Change food VERY slowly and gradually over a week or two. Canidae send samples if you email them or call. No, I don't work for them or anything, but our trainer recommended it and we haven't had any tummy issues since he has been on it. I'm very pleased and happy to pass the word on about it.

| Baxter gets Chicken Soup and Chloe gets Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul. I was feeding Royal Canin Yorkshire-Baxter gained quite a bit of weight on that! Yikes!

| I feed Samson Innova puppy and sometimes mix in a little Chicken Soup. He really likes both of them, maybe the Innova a little more. |

| Kelsey eats Eukanuba as well. She looves it. She seems to really eat up the little pouches (their new) I buy for her. I mix it with the Eukanuba small breed dry dog food and she loves it. One pouch lasts about a day 1/2. I only put about a scoop of wet and the rest dry (every morning and dinner time)...and occasionally I will give her table scraps but nothing with too much flavor it's usually chicken or vegetables stuff like that. I heard Eukanuba isn't a good dog food b/c of the chicken by product or whatever that is in it...It can't be too bad is it? A lot of people I know feed their yorkies this.

| We have fed Ozzie Eukanuba since we've had him (a couple of weeks). That is what the breeder had him on. He is 10 weeks old and gaining weight FAST. Is this typical for his age? I want him to be healthy, so the weight gain isn't an issue if it best for him...the weight gain is very obvious though...so I'm a little concerned. Ozzie also poops like 4-5 times a day. Is this unusual? I had read somewhere that only 1-2 times a day is normal.

| Food Our breeder told us to put about 1/4 tsp of syrup in the puppy food. Also now & then to put in plain yogurt. How long do you do this? Anyone else doing this? Pat (Mom of Muffie & Missy) |

| I'm sure there are others who are more qualified to answer this than I. I'm a newbie at this as we got our older one when she was 8 months and already house broken. The hard part was over by then. For Yorkies, I think I've read we should wait till they are about a year old. Best of luck and Happy New Year.

| i used to feed archie royal canin yorkshire terrier but one day they didn't have it in the store and my fiance brought home yorkshire terrier mini instead, but archie loved it! he actually eats his dry food more than his wet food because he loves crunchy things. for wet food, he eats Wellness New Zealand Venison and Sweet Potato. |

| I have had mine on canine yorkie and ceasers, when we went to the vet for our c section, he was really was upset with both foods,his complaint was the corn in the canine and said the ceasers was no better than cat food,he sugested the chicken lovers food, and wouldn't you know it I had to special order it from a feed store in the next town out of our valley,should be in today or tomorrow then we will see,he sells science diet and said he can't recommend it for the yorkies because his experiance has been bladder stones with it, but he also said it could be just a fluke..just what we were told, will let you know what my SPOILED babies think of the new food,otherwise its back to making my own agian..and I thought I got away from that |
