| Love the safety profile of Sentinel too! But HG is still a great drug. I think Ry will be switched to Sentinel soon. I like it. And then if you need to apply FL it can be the regular and doesn't need to be the Plus.

| Yes exactly why I want to get away from HG... More importantly, can't wait to dump that revolution which I've never trusted.

| OK, call me dense..........my vet just prescribed Heartguard Plus for heartworm and hookworms and K9 Advantix II for fleas and ticks. Am I doubling up on something? I thought HG was for the worms and Advantix II is for fleas and ticks. I also received a brochure from HG that recommends using Frontline Plus with the HG for fleas and ticks. What am I missing?

| Seriously! HG vs. Semtinel...meh. But if I had to use Rev I'd personally have my nails chewed down to nubs with worry.

| Thanks for reassuring me. The flea/tick/heartworm topic is about as controversial as which food to buy or which shampoo/conditioner to use. I always enjoy seeing what everyone else is using but it boils down to what works for you and your furbaby.

| That's great but doing you own research is also a good thing. If I can plainly see that it is doubling up on something I am not going to do it. I am sure my vet will also let me know that next time I go in to see her. Please keep in mind frontline and Advantix are different and you use frontline so I am sure you know what is safe with what you use.

| I used the last of Zhoie's Interceptor last month. I have to admit I'm torn in what to use and scared to try something new on her. We need a dose by the 15 th, so I can't put it off any longer. I'm going to try Heartgard but I'm not sure if I should go with the Plus or not. My vet has Iverheart on hand but I'm going to go through 800 Pet Meds and they will send a script for my vet to approve, or I think that's how it works. I've called every vets office in town and they all carry the generic brand of Heartgard...geez.

| I don't know but I don't want to use the generic, that would really freak me out even more.

| YT 2000 Club Member | I have been researching the meds and of course am very confused. You want to choose the safest stuff since we have to use something. Last year I used Revolution with no problems . My friend has a poodle breeder who uses this med on her dogs. I have looked at the other meds. Some aren't working against the fleas so why bother. My vet recommended Triflexis last year but I was scared to use that. Too many dogs had reactions. I want something safe. I am still wondering and asking around. |
