YT 2000 Club Member | Why do you think he is over weight? Puppies that age usually are not, as they are so active they run it all off! How tall is he compared to his weight?

YT 2000 Club Member | So he is 8.13 lbs....how tall is he? If he has a larger bone structure and is tall or leggy, this wold account for his weight. Could you post a photo? I would love to see your little guy!

| hi , can you post a pic of your little guy ? it is uncommon for a 7 month old pup to be overweight unless you are feeding him way too much or the wrong foods.. just my opinion.. my Oscar is 1 1/2 yrs old @ 9 lbs , 13 inches long base of neck to base of tail 12 inches tall, shoulder to floor.. i will post a pic. i hope this helps.. |

| Make him active as much as you can,Try to give him food in raw form.Play games with it and keep him busy with something. That can help him a lot in losing the unnecessary weight. |

| WHOA!!!!!! It is not established the puppy is overweight! Puppies that age are SELDOM overweight.......I do NOT advocate raw for a baby that young....dont go tinkering around restricting food on a growing puppy.....you will be setting your puppy up for a whole host of problems!!!!!!! That baby will grow into his body as he matures.....you probably have a large Yorkie....this baby will be JUST as lovable, just as devoted to you, just as playful, just as adorable, just as stubborn which makes him "terrier endearing", as a small size yorkie, and less fragile as a smaller Yorkie! Please dont be worried about a weight issue on that baby at this stage of the game....you are probably wrong about your cause of his size! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 04-12-2013 at 01:49 PM. |

I agree with the raw food just don't make a quick switch. I feed raw but in very small amounts as treats only. Dogs are animals at the end of the day and the digestive systems are meant to digest eat raw foods. I have seen an incredible change in all my dogs coats and they absolutely love it. | |
