| My old timer loves chicken baby food. Gerbers has a higher fat content than Beechnut. He even takes his meds with it. Sending prayers...

| What an incredible life your little Deever has had, so far! Keeping, you, your husband and Deever in my thoughts and prayers. Your vet was right, when it's time Deever will tell you - listen with your heart. But I do pray for your sake that he falls asleep peacefully and crosses the rainbow bridge. Perhaps if you tell him that you and hubby will be ok he will let go. When I was caring for my first Yorkie, Laciebug who had a terminal illness, each time I would take her to the vet I'd ask if "it was time". His reply was always the same - Listen to Laciebug and she will tell you when it's time. He was sssooo right in a very sad way. There came a time when I let Lacie out she would try to wander off and always I would go and fetch her home. I should have "listened to her". Hubby and I were gone for a couple of days on a business trip and my semi-adult children were in charge. The younger son was still recovering from a shattered femor, but was somewhat mobile let Lacie out and she took off. The oldest son and my daughter searched for her, but she had disappeared in the woods by our home. Sadly, they never found her. That was over 10 years ago, and I still look for my Lacie. Our 15 year old boxer, Boo, let us know and we had to make the heart wrenching decision to have the vet make one final sad housecall. Hugs and prayers and comforting thoughts to you and your husband during this difficult time. |

| YT 2000 Club Member | You listen to your heart. You love little Deever just like I loved my brown poodle Tuffy. I knew when it was time and he knew it too. I had to take my friend with me because I could not be in there when Tuffy was taking his last breath. I took him home and he is out in the back yard with a special stone we decorated for him. I love and miss him so much but I know in my heart I had to do that. You will know too. I cry just thinking of this and I will hold you close in my prayers as you and Deever go through the days ahead. |

| My husband and I finally made the trip to the vet last week after deciding to have our little guy put down because he began screaming after a seizure. We just assumed it was pain, but the vet said no, it's neurological, and we should take him home. Can't tell you the joy we felt after blubbering all the way there. And I had been so angry at myself because a few months back, after a bath, he shook off and then fainted and began crying like that. It's a horrible yelp. really loud, and followed by going completely limp. I thought it was my fault that he hurt himself when he fell over. I hate bathing him now but he's in diapers now and vet said very important to keep him clean to avoid any infections. Last week, same thing, shook off after his bath, and this time I caught him when he fainted, and very gently put him on his side. He started sceaming for 30 seconds or so anyway. This may sound crazy, but I'm actually relieved that he's not in pain and when these happen again, I won't be as scared. I just hold him and talk softly to him and within 15 minutes he's better. So sad that we can't let him just be a dog because we're so paranoid of him fainting and hurting himself. Dogs really put humans to shame. I'm going to let him do what he wants from now on. Unfortunately, he's not eating again, but he has sprung back so many times this year, I'm so hoping he'll be back to his awesome self in a few days. Just like kids. After the visit to the pediatrician, they get sick. |

| Aww, sweet boy. Just love on him and let him have whatever he will eat. Take pictures, or maybe make a paw print in clay. Save a bit of his fur from his next comb-out. Someday, down the road, you will be glad to have these treasures from your wonderful life together with that beautiful baby. Blessings to you during these sunset days. You are so fortunate to have each other.

| ♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Sending prayers your way. When he is ready he will let you know. My good friend had to let his pup go a few weeks ago, I told him the same thing. Bear did let him know he was ready, although Ed was not....Ed told me..'Jacqs, he is just worn out, he's ready'....Deever knows you love him...he has returned that love to you ten fold. These little love bugs aren't with us nearly long enough....thankfully you have had almost 17 years with him.... cherish what time you have left with him....I'm so sorry you are going through this. ((HUGGZZ))

| You sound like such a sweet mom. When my little Roxy was near the end I let her eat anything she wanted. When she no longer could eat ice cream or liver sausage I knew it was time to say goodbye. (She had cancer.)

| Sadly, Deever lost his fight today. He's gone. He was the most incredible little life that graced ours. Things will never be the same. RIP little buddy. |

| YT 2000 Club Member | Deever is no longer having seizures or crying out. He is with his Creator just jumping with joy. How I wish he could be with you but we all face that day when our little precious dogs must leave us. It is heartbreaking and we cry many tears but they really do leave their love and faithfulness with us. I am crying tears for you and know Deever was a great companion and friend. Sending hugs and comfort prayers. May you know how blessed you are to have had him in your life. You know the love of a dog and someday I do believe you will see your friend again. In a beautiful place, we cannot imagine, Deever will greet you with the wag of his tail and that cute Yorkie face. |
