| I happened upon this thread and thought I'd mention that we have a little girl yorkie that does not do well with bully stix either. I don't know if there would be a connection to bullystix, high protein and LS/mvd? (just a thought). I came across some new information authored by Dr. Karen Tobias on livershunts and mvd. I thought I'd post the link in case it is helpful to anyone. Hope your baby is ok. LiverShuntAndMVD.com |

| I personally would toss the bully sticks. They have been known to cause gastro intestinal issues. The fact that they often have bacteria on them would make them not a great idea for a liver compromised dog. I also would not use any diet until there is a diagnosis or the vet advised me to. Hope Eva is feeling better soon!

| Dr. Karen Tobias: "Bile acids can also be mildly increased in normal dogs, particularly in some breeds (such as Maltese) where chemicals in their blood interfere with the test." (http://www.vet.utk.edu/clinical/sacs/shunt/faq.pdf) Eva is part Maltese. What does this mean for her? ~Joanne~
