| My females hair got real thin on her back also. My vet also did skin scrappings and never did find out why it got so thin but it grew in and she is okay now. I am sorry I cant give you any answers but thought you might like to know I went through the same thing with my dog.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Something you may want to try is Missin Link. It's formulated specifically for a dog's coat and skin. Like mega vitamins for these areas. PetCo and PetSmart carries it and you just sprinkle a little bit on their food. Haven't tried this personally (our PetSmart should be opening next month) but do plan on it. Also, several members here use it and RAVE about it.

| Yea Missing link is good for the coat I use it. Did your vet put your dog on any kind of antibiotic? They put Jewels on antibiotics for 2 weeks. I dont know if that helped her hair grow back though. It grew back real thick when it did grow.

| Regan's hair is pretty thin, too...But I just thought she didn't have that show dog coat...I'll have to try Missing Link and see how it works...

| Thank you for your help. I am new to this site. Your babies are adorable. How old were they before their hair began to grow in on their backs? My pup has really silky hair every where but his back and the backs of his ears. |

| Is his skin blue colored? I just thought he had a skin problem but hair missing on the back of the ear makes me think he might be a blue puppy. Its a genetic defect. It could still just be that he has lost hair but it sounds suspicious. You can read about blue puppies by putting blue puppy in the search and some posts about it will come up. I dont know that much about it just what I have read. My dogs hair started growin g back immediately. If it is a blue pup there hair doesnt grow in all the way.
