| Diamond Pet Foods- Makes Chicken Soup for Dog Lovers Soul Thought I post this here too. http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com/ Scroll to the bottom of the page it is at the very end of the page. http://www.eskie.net/dog/food/ Yes, the Chicken Soup for the Soul(and Pet Lover's Soul) folks have decided to add their own brand of food to the market, obviously marketing heavily off the success of the books they've published. These foods are actually made by Diamond Pet Foods. Check the Chicken Soup site for more information! Just a heads up not sure it is involved in the recall but worth looking into. Joy |

| I am not sure I would feel at all comfortable risking my fur kid till we know for positive that the whole company is not infected. Things are still coming to light and a safe then sorry approach may be better or not. Joy |

| What products are NOT included in the recall? Although certain pet foods produced at the Gaston facility have been voluntarily recalled due to potential aflatoxin contamination, a wide range of the plant's products are perfectly safe and still can be purchased from retailers. Gaston products NOT part of the recall include: All Premium Edge products The complete Chicken Soup product lines Diamond Lamb and Rice Adult Diamond Large Breed Adult 60+ Diamond Large Breed Puppy Diamond Senior 8+ Diamond Kitten Professional Lamb and Rice Professional Reduced Fat Chicken & Rice Dog Food

| Not trying to start a fight but we are going to trust a company that is in trouble. Do we know for positive that the planets making these other brands are self contained and stuff is not cross shipped to other planets. Have the planets making the other foods been checked out. Sorry worry wort Joy |

| Yes, it is very sad! I think I read somewhere that the toxic substance in the food only grows on corn, which is in the Diamond food, but I don't think Chicken Soup has corn in it. I'm not totally for sure on this though.

| I found this about the toxic substance: Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring toxic chemical by-product from the growth of the fungus Aspergillus flavus, on corn and other crops. The fungus develops on crops during years with severe high temperature stress and drought.

| "corn and other crops." Ok now other crops is not specified. The rice be ok as it is a water grown planet so that leave just the oats which seems not to be involved in this case. Joy |
