| Cataracts in the Eye Hi guys, My yorkie is turning 4 tomorrow(yay!) but when I got home from school today I noticed that one of his eyes looked cloudy. At first I thought it was just the dim lighting, but upon close inspection I noticed that the pupil of one of his eyes was black (as always) while the other a cloudy white. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow, but I would like to know if anyone knows of any remedies or cures for cataracts asides from surgery. So that I am able to ask vet about them tomorrow. D; Thanks In Advance!! |

| I posted on your other thread. If the while film suddenly appeared overnight, there is a good chance it is not a cataract. It could be a corneal ulcer or other eye problem.

| Our 2 year old shih tzu has juvenile cataracts. He has to go for surgery at the end of this month. I also thought it was the lighting when I saw his eye. The vet says it's fairly common. He says it's a pretty easy surgery if he's a good candidate but it's very expensive. He told me that the surgery would run about $2900 at least but I have to do it. I don't him to be blind. I wish you luck. |
