Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Halo Food I went to Pet Co this weekend and they recommended that I try the Halo Food. They said it is geared towards smaller dogs and it is all natural. Wondering if anyone else has tried their food and what they thought of it? Thanks so much for your advice. Annie has been on Royal Canin for quite a while but the clerk at Pet Co says it has fillers in it and it is not the best food. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

| No, I bought Nature's Recipe and so far so good. If there is a Petsmart near you I would try them. They are often lower in price and carry all the same good brands. |

| I fed my dogs Royal Canin but when a rescue was staying the night they went gaga just smelling her food. It was Halo Spot Stew. After looking it up on dogfoodadvisor (it was 4 out of 5 stars) I am starting the switch this weekend...I think it'll take awhile for me to notice if there is a difference as im slowly switching them over. We will see. I liked royal canin but my littlest yorkie has such dry itchy skinand I noticed others on here had mentioned that happened on RC that im hoping the switch will help correct it!

| P-Nut was on Halo Spot's Stew for puppies and then for small breeds and did great on it for over a year. Our vet approved it and said it's a high-quality food. Then, all of a sudden, around October, something changed and he started having diarrhea issues - we're not sure why. I decided to go grain-free and found that he'll only eat Merrick grain-free (rated 5 stars at dogfoodadvisor), so we transitioned to that - everything has stabilized since. I can't say if it was the Halo or not that was giving him the issues and I don't want to test it by going back to it |

| I feed fromm.. and home cook the evening meal. I added another food a few days past and bailey has skin issues all over..so horrible. I wanted another food to back up the fromm if I couldn't cook. Anyway-- my question --is the halo wet?

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks everyone for your advice. Here is the link to Halo. I don't think it is much of a price difference between Halo and Royal Canin. Halo, Purely for Pets – Natural Dog Food | halopets.com 10 pounds is 28.00 on the Halo Web Site. So far she really likes it and is seperating all of her old dog food out on the floor to eat the spots stew. Yes, it is available in wet also. All of your information is greatly appreciated.

| I have no clue where Halo is manufactured, where they source their ingredients from, who formulates the food. So that would make me nervous. All I found was an email from someone at Halo, and they still will not specify where it's made. I wouldn't touch it for that reason. If you can't answer such a simple question, I'd wonder what else you're hiding. Quote:

If you don't mind me asking, What you you feed your baby? Just trying to find a good food that Annie will enjoy. She is quite the fickle pickle and a lean mean machine also. Thanks!!!

Even though we just stopped feeding it, I will highly recommend Fromm. Amazing company, most Yorkies do really well on it. Jackson kept getting bad eye boogers... so we are in the process of trying samples right now to see if its the food or not. But I still would highly recommend Fromm. We are on samples of Petcurean's Now! and Go! foods right now... been about a week, doing well. I was satisfied with their answers for me, and their Quality Control. Also look into Canine Caviar. Annamaet and Dr. Tims seem to be well respected and very well managed. If I had to choose a food at Petco, it'd be Natures Variety Prairie probably.

| Not sure if you have Horizon Legacy available in your area or not, but it is another food you might consider trying. Our dogs are doing well on it. They have 3 different grain free lines; Legacy, Amicus, and Pulsar.

| My cat has/does eat Halo wet soft food and dry kibble and loves it. These days I think all pet food companies are "not telling the whole truth" liars)and I just go by the ingredients. I am tired of driving myself crazy trying to find a reputable food company. Champion ruined it for me (Acana/Orijen). I just don't know what or who to believe any more so I do the best I can. Whatever my cat & boys do well on (and has good ingredients) I will feed. In short, I like the ingredients in Halo and have no problem feeding it to my cat. Nor would I have a problem feeding it to my dogs. But that is me. My boys are currently on Canine Caviar. Wet and dry. I could be wrong but it seems a looooong time ago I read Halo was manufactured by a company called PeterPan???

Brit, did you ever figure out what was causing the eye boogers? I love Fromm as a company and feed it to my cats, but my pups get the worst eye boogers from this stuff! I've been feeded them Primal (raw) which they love. It seems like no matter how much I feed them they are a little too skinny on it, so I've decided to supplement with dry food. Well, sure enough, as soon as we went back to the Fromm, the bad black eye boogies came back with a vengeance! Once our current bag of Fromm is gone, we're going to try Now! so please wish us luck.
