| hi, oh your little boy is growin up... well nuetering is a very common surgery so most dogs do well ... just be sure to request the pre op bloodwork to make sure everything is ok... you will have to keep him quiet for a few days after and make sure he does not lick the incision.. watch for swelling and redness, a little is normal though. he will be groggy and out of sorts for the first day you bring him home but he should start feeling better the next day... |

| Initially, Dexter just wanted warm cuddles and was a bit sick after eating a little food. Then he was back to his bouncy self within the day, although I didn't encourage him to play rough. We had to keep the collar on him when he wasn't in view, he was a little swine for trying to nibble and lick! If you've ever had an operation, then you know what coming round from anaesthesia is like |

| I would definitely recommend getting the pre-op bloodwork done to make sure he's healthy enough to go under. Expect him to be groggy when you pick him up from the vet. Try to restrict his movement and keep him calm. He will probably just sleep for the rest of the day. Monitor his pain levels and make sure to get pain meds from the vet. The next day, expect him to try to do more than he should You are going to have to try and keep him calm for a couple days and make sure he doesn't lick his incision. Other than that, I'm sure he will do great. Before you know it, he will be back to his regular ol' self

| My little boy will be six mths next week. I think i need to postpone it, is there any harm in delaying it a few wks. I want his best interest at heart. y daughter is in hospital and I have her young cat that is creating chaos in the household and I am afraid he is so "wound up" with this guest that its crazy making. he loves it, just wont leave it alone. thoughts on best age? He has been lifting his leg and humping from about 3 mths old. |
