| Surgery day :( I dropped Toki off at the vet this morning for her FHO surgery and would love some positive thoughts. She has to stay overnight at the vet's post-surgery so I won't get to see her until sometime tomorrow in the early afternoon I was so sad while packing up her kibble and her blanket (I'm such a baby!) to take to the hospital. It's hard to focus on other things right now...I'll be worrying until I get a phone call from the surgeon later on today letting me know that she did well. I'm hoping for a successful surgery with no complications. Thanks for any good vibes you can send our way! |

| I'm so thankful she has a mommie who is getting her the help she needs to lead a healthier, happier life. She's in the best, experienced hands and should do fine w/surgery, recovery and get to be a normal doggie again. Try to stay busy or shop and take care of yourself, too. I'll be praying.

| Well, got a call back from the vet earlier this afternoon and Toki's FHO surgery for her Legg-Perthes went well...she's currently sleeping off the anesthesia. I wish I could bring her back today but I'm glad to hear that she had a successful surgery. Tomorrow can't come fast enough! Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers! It really makes a difference having such a supportive group of people to talk to. I'll be sure to update once I bring little Toki back home tomorrow |

| That is great news! I wish her a speedy recovery. I know it's so hard to see them in pain or after surgery.

| Toki is back! We just returned from the vet...she is bearing weight on her leg and it feels so good to see her use it! She seems a little uncertain about what's going on with that back leg but hopefully we'll see a lot of improvement during the next few days and the recovery process. I was so worried about leaving her all night but this hospital shares a building with an emergency animal clinic whose staff watches the pets overnight. That was definitely reassuring to me... I am so pleased with the vet and the staff who did Toki's surgery and provided her with such great care. I'm attaching a few pictures...she has a little nekkid chicken leg now As soon as we got home, she rang the potty bells to go out and then when we came back inside, she jumped right into her bed to take a nap. I feel so much better having Toki back at home! |
