I'm just always leery of anything thats known to cause problems. We recommend pregnant moms limit their rosemary and sage consumption (extract, oil, dried-all are known to cause seizures) because of this concern. (I was in school to be a midwife before the world decided to throw me a curve ball). there are many other herbs that can be used as preservatives instead of rosemary.

| ![]() Yup, they're all clear of parasites, they all had fecals done recently for their yearly exams. I will try feeding them THK for both their meals & see if there's a difference, Thank You for the suggestion! Turbo started throwing up yellow bile the past 3 nights. Strange bc he hasn't done that in a long while after I figured out that he was allergic to pumpkin. Someone also mentioned that their yorkie was allergic to fiber in general...maybe it's too much fiber in his diet. THK is pretty high, 6 something% fiber...but why is he throwing up now ![]()

Sweet potatoes aren't in the same family as pumpkins, but that doesn't mean he couldnt have developed an allergy. I'm leaning towed home cooking because none of my 3 like the same foods. Allie has a grain allergy I'm pretty sure- she was constantly biting at her feet til I switched, and Westley has gooey eyes, but they haven't cleared up since I switched, so I'm not sure what's causing them. Noah appears to be underweight to me, but he's actually my best eater... I'm giving them another month to 6 weeks on the blue buffalo grain free and then going to home cooking if I don't see better results.

I have the same dilemma! Momo has grain allergies, skinny but eats like a widdle piggie, Princess is the itchy one, Mimi is very picky (but LOVES THK) & Turbo's Mr. goopy eyes. The only thing keeping me from home cooking is the fear of over or under supplementing. My holistic vet gave me a handout about home cooking w/her own recipe. I'll follow that & see how it goes. Please PM me if anybody wants the recipe. Not sure if I'm allowed to post it, think I need to ask her permission 1st. ![]()

| ![]() I had heard this too. My dog has epilepsy so naturally I was worried about this. However, I use shampoo with rosemary in it, he has had treats with rosemary in it, I have rosemary plants in my garden, and I often cook with it and thus my house is fragrant w/ rosemary. I think the bigger problem is rosemary essential oil (or other essential oils) which are very concentrated. I don't have rosemary oil in the house anymore because of this. Otherwise, food and products w/ rosemary in it have not triggered a seizure in our dog. I just hear all these so called "triggers" of seizures and remarkably my dog's neurologist has not advised me to do anything differently with this dog other than treat him normally and give him his meds.
