There are other SD foods that I have used and would use again. I trust the company. I do have pups with special issues and they are on RX foods....either Hills or Purina or Royal Canin work well for them.

| Well I dont buy a food because of a company. Companies can have recalls, change formulas and sell out. I buy for ingredients because thats important to me

Companies are the problem, not the ingredients. Many of the same companies continue to have recalls...take Merrick for example. It is all a food handling issue with many of them and has nothing to do with what they are putting in their foods. I believe that Hill's is one of the best in terms of quality control.

| Well thats not exactly what Im saying. I shop for My dogs like I shop for my family for example if kraft mayonaise has more fat I dont buy it because I like kraft as a company I buy one that has lower fat. Thats what I mean by buying for ingredients. If a company changed their formula forr the food and the ingredients werent what i desired I would buy from a different company that offered a food that was more to my liking

I am referring to companies that seem to repeat the same mistakes. Let me also say that I don't use recalls as my only measurement. Again, I want a company that spends money on research and feeding trials. That's what I have been advised to look for by the vet nutritionist and is what I believe is best for my pups.

| Oh, and I probably worded that incorrectly. To my knowledge Hill's did not have an actual problem with their cat food...it was a voluntary recall.

| But having a finicky eater before. I wouldn't hesitate to feed it anything it would eat. I would just try to supplement the food. Nothing worst then worry about your pup not eating at all. It is easy to put DOWN dog foods when your dog eats a food that is "thought" or "Rated" better. And easy to forget that dog may not eat that. I like to supplement with fresh foods anyways JMO |

| Most of Merrick were also and not as many. I was just merely pointing out they had recalls same a Merrick. Guess a food can Voluntary have a recall and everyone knows =bad. If the Fda doesn't catch it then there would have been no recall...if they lucked out and nothing seriously happened. Which would me the company had no recalls when asked. |
