I wouldn't skip shots . But if the breeder is trusted and has a label.

But isn't there less rick of getting Parvo with vaccinations? Why take a chance when Parvo is spread so easy? That why they think theres such a rise in Parvo. Because ppl aren't vaccinating there dogs. Thats what I Goggled anyways. Not like the shot is risky like some others

My vet doesn't spay/neuter small dogs til most of their adult teeth are in or coming in. He said the less we need to anesthetize little ones is best for them. He will take out the retained teeth at the same time they are spayed/neutered. He also does not push for early spaying/neuters. It is dog, lifestyle, and owner based recommendations- Not cookie cutter.

Sounds like vaccine overdose to me. 3 sets and done for most.

Yes, the puppy shots and one year boosters are important. I don't think anyone is saying not to get ANY shots at all. They are certainly very important. But there is literally no reason to re-vaccinate year after year. They are not anymore protected.

While an adult dog can definitely get parvo, it's a lot more rare.

Let’s start with this: adult dogs have always been able to get canine parvovirus. It’s simply more common in puppies, because there are difficulties in successfully immunizing young puppies against this disease — not just the “new” strain, but all known strains. But most adults are vaccinated for parvo, and since the vaccine is extremely effective, even those who don’t continue getting so-called “booster shots” remain immune for many years, most likely their lifetimes.

The problem of a very, very small number of dogs who cannot be successfully vaccinated for parvo is not new, and has been established long prior to this in the veterinary literature.

I Rub a little ACV on my dogs feet when we go to the vets, dog parks oyt in general it kills the parvo virus I rinse with it them (we dont shampoo we wen) and bath when we get home to get any funkies they could have picked up while out.

Yhe only vac my dogs get is a rabies booster once every 3y years, we decline the lepto.

As far as teeth doing it simaltaniously may be best but really thats subjective based on the situation.

I'm not doubting what you say. But Ican't find any medical link that backs it up .ACV killing Pavo? As many as I find that it does I find as many saying it doesn't. Do you have one??

Research is sketchy, I have a friend who runs what is basically an all puppy parvo rescue, she started using ACV and can attest to its ptoven working.

Until it is scientifically clinically tested count on human errir, inadequate and inconsistant use to be prevelent.

Again, no one is saying *not* to get a shot. Are you saying you would rather give a vaccine every year, or are you just saying the OP should give more? Her pup seems to have had more than enough puppy vaccines. The pup has already has 3 from her vet, and he wants to give another one in a month. It's just excessive is all.

Parvo is a very dangerous and deadly disease (especially to pups).

However, any vet who recommends yearly vaccines, or is loading up excessively, is not following the AAHA (The American Animal Hospital Association) protocol, and I would never choose them as my pets primary care givers. Currently, the schedule is every 3 years, however it's been proven they last much longer. Yearly vaccines have been proven to be harmful and unnecessary, even by the biggest animal association that vet practices should follow by. "immunity lasts at least 5 years for distemper and parvo, and at least 7 years for adenovirus.

So if the AAHA isn't enough evidence for you, I don't know what is.

Well if you read all the post you will know what I was trying to say?
read #14 -#17 post. I was trying to understand all this information.
The initial shots I would do on a puppy. Anthing else I wouldn't in "PLACE" of the shots. I was asking for information re guarding the ACV. But it seems like it's just used as preventive care not replacement. A good breeder I would trust if they say they gave the shots and give you a record with the sticker. Never did I say she had to get them. I was looking for evidence that supports the ACV.

I am curious about the ACV too. I def wouldn't trust it over a vaccine. But I think concretegirl is saying she uses it in conjunction.
