| Food/Brand - What kind do you feed your yorkie? I have Bentley on Wellness Puppy, but I'm noticing his poop is really smelly and diarrhea like, it leaves a BIG mess around the house whenever he has an "accident". I'm not so sure this is normal? |

| I have used Royal Canin for the past 5 years and it worked great. I just switched Jada over to Innova, but now she wont eat it unless I put wet food with it. I may have to go back to Royal Canin. The poop is always firm and hardly has any odor. I only switched because I thought hardly had better ingredients. But she wont eat it so it's back to what works |

it could be the food or sometimes sign of a medical issue. several people on here use royal canin and have great success with it. all dogs are different of course. I guess whatever you feed mostly depends on the dog. i feed my little one acana grain free ranchlands. he does really well on it. | |

| I like grain-free foods. Toki is currently eating the grain-free Fromm Game Bird kibble in the evening which she is doing very well on. I would like to try the Acana Regionals line after we go through a couple more bags of the GF Fromm though. Toki has also done well on Blue Buffalo in the past. In the mornings, she gets some type of raw...I have primarily been giving her Nature's Variety (duck, currently feeding chicken raw bites) with some green beans and coconut oil. Somedays she'll get some freeze-dried Stella & Chewy's. Did you just switch Bentley over to the Wellness? Smelly, runny poo is definitely not normal and your pup should be checked out by a vet if it is occurring regularly. |

| He had his check up not too long ago, vet said he is very healthy and up to date. I've had him on Wellness since the beginning and noticed changes along the way that's why I'm thinking of switching over. I'm going to go out and buy the royal canin if it doesn't change anything, off to the vet we go. Thanks ladies Posted from Yorkietalk.com App for Android |

| I home cook for my dogs. When I am not home cooking, we use Royal Canin foods with great results.

| No, loose poop that often isn't normal. For what it's worth, Wellness gave us really big smelly poop too. We use Acana (both the grainfree line and the Singles line) with fantastic results! He poops 2-3 small firm poops a day and his coat is in great condition, eyes always clear and free of eye goop, ears never stink or infections, breath is always good, digestion, energy, etc, etc.

| Wellness gave my dogs terrible gas. We had good luck with Nature's Variety Prairie when they were puppies. We have used Fromm most of the time lately (since shortly before the Diamond/TOTW recall. We use the 4-Star Nutritionals grain inclusive formulas. The only one I had trouble with was the salmon (gave one of my dogs diarrhea). We really liked the duck and sweet potato formula. For what it's worth, the kibble size for the duck and sweet potato formula is slightly larger than most of the Fromm formulas we used (slightly smaller than TOTW). Fromm is a good company and will send you coupons if you email them and ask.

| Atticus eats FreshPet in the mornings and BlueBuffalo Grain-Free puppy kibble at night. He has never had any kind of loose poop. Good luck!

| Tibbe had a long bout of GI issues and when Royal Canin GI caused him to itch, I then changed him to what the vet originally recommended, Hill's GI I/D kibble and canned. After a week, his itching was gone and after a week or two, his GI problems have all gone. He had been having reflux with reverse sneezing, spitting up white foam/bile, much gas, anorexia, occas. constipation but mostly very mucous-filled stools and no playing or enjoying life. He just lay about doing nothing. Along with with the Hill's, he was put on Pepcid AC and Fortiflora for 2 weeks. He's now back to his normal, feisty self with normal stools and absolutely no other symptoms - all gone. I'm keeping him on the Hill's at least until the huge bag is almost empty then will no doubt switch him to whatever it was Ellie May/Crystal recommended. I can't recall what it was but I've got it written down in my Day Planer.

| I use Innova-a little less than 1/3 cup a day. In the morning, I will mix a portion of what she gets with a cut up and smashed steamed green bean, a small amount of cooked or raw shredded carrots, or about 1/4 of a teaspoon of mashed sweet potato. Abby has the rest of the food in her dish all day after this feeding, so she goes and eats when she wants in the afternoon and evening. That works good for her, and she is little so I like food for her whenever! |

--------------------------------------- Ellie eats Purina HA because it works best for her. My other dog eats RC SO now. I like SD Ideal BAlance and RC's regular foods, but my pups can't have them.

| I went out and bought royal canin. I mixed it with the Wellness a little bit of both to get him started. He was so excited he ate it all within a few minutes. I hope he does good on this one. Also, question... what kind of wet food do you give? I'm so new to this puppy thing. It's like having a newborn all over again. ; p Posted from Yorkietalk.com App for Android |

| We are in the process of switching from Wellness and Blue Buffalo to FROMM. I am gradually making the change and should be completely switched this coming week!

| I went out and bought the Royal Canin. I mixed a little in with the wellness, and he ate it up within minutes! He seemed to like it a lot! Now let's hope he does good on it and I can stop stressing out. Also, can you ladies tell me what do you feed your babies besides dry food? I've been feeding Bentley the Wellness wet puppy food, and now I don't know what to mix in with the Royal Canin dry. Help please?! |
