| I've been feeding mine honest kitchen only for dinner for over a month now...they gobble it right up. I have to give Momo little @ a time because he will try to gulp it all down @ one time! This is the closest we've gotten to raw, researching some other better options, but so far so good. Nice firm stools & their hair is nice & shiny. I am trying the rotation protein diet, so right now they're eating Thrive (Chicken) & next will be Embark (Turkey). THK is plant based w/ 21-31% protein, so you can add more protein if you'd like. It's human grade, so the people that work there actually taste test the food loll! It actually smells really good. I chose THK because I wanted my aunt to feed Princess & Turbo w/out any problems. I have noticed that some specks of the food gets on the toothbrush when I brush their teeth...not sure how that will be long term. Guess that shows we need to brush them everyday, bc I've noticed that w/kibble too sometimes.

| I used to feed Uni the Preference. She loved it. It just takes a lot longer than throwing some kibble down. I did also try the beef one. I forget the name. It's the one w the lowest fat and protein. It can get expensive if you have more than one dog, but I do think it'd an easier alternative to 100% home cooked. |

| I would not consider HK raw because the temp. used to dehydrated the food does also cook it to some degree. Mine do eat it as a topper and live it. All Natural Dog Food Dehydration Process | The Honest Kitchen

| I just started feeding Rio and Bullet THK Preference, adding ground turkey breast (cooked). They absolutely love it. I am scared to add actual raw turkey - I'm not well informed about how the whole raw food thing works and my two have sensitive tummies. But so far so good - it's been about a week. I like the fact that there aren't a lot of additives like in dry kibble or even worse, canned food. Price seemed high but I only feed them 1/8 cup twice a day per dog. Seems like it will last a while for us...

| what about it is nasty, the texture? lolll as long as my fur babies like it & they're doing well on it, I'm ok w/it. I would love to feed mine raw, I'm just not comfortable w/it. I actually just got a bag of ziwi peak & I've been using Nutrisca feeze dried raw on their kibble for breakfast. I just am not yet @ that level where I feel comfortable feeding them straight raw food. I do have a trial bag of Nature's Variety medallions, gonna give it to them for the 1st time tonight as a treat & see if they like it...I'm sure they will.

| They like all the flavors! I just have to pick 1 w/out pumpkin for Turbo bc he's severely allergic to it, it makes him throw up. He only has 2 choices, the thrive & embark. The others get grain free which includes embark & a few more. I only feed THK for dinner, so it lasts awhile for us even tho there's 4. I got couple of 10# boxes since they have the 20% off til end of this month (tomorrow's the last day!).

| The look and smell it totally turned my stomach. I mean if your dogs eat and like it Im all for it, but it caused me a serious gag reflex, I literally avoid walking by it at the pet store for fear of smelling it again.

| HK smells to me like a home cooked meal pureed to a pulp. Canned dog food smells like Spam or deviled ham. All of these I would eat LOL.
