| How much do I feed my baby I am a new mom to a 3 month old mini yorkie boy. He weighs 1KG and I feed him Royal Canin 29 Junior (recommended by vets). I read on their website to feed him 31g over 3 meals a day. Sometimes I give him a little bit of veggies with his kibbles for dinner but not every night. I feed him at about 6am, 1pm and 6pm. He always acts starving when I put his food down for him and barks at me when I am eating something as if to say "Mom, where's mine". Is this normal behavior?I am so worried that I am not feeding him enough. I have checked with a vet who said I am feeding him the right amount as his food is so concentrated, I'm still a bit worried though. Other than that, he sleeps through the night, is active during the day and is full of energy and personality, healthy happy pup. Any advise would be appreciated. x I just need to add that his breeder estimates his adult weight to be 2KG's and calls him a Teacup. |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | My dogs would BOTH eat til they exploded!! I would have your vet set his amounts for you. I think they will do it over the phone if you just call and ask. Thats not something they have to be seen for. After you get your answer be ready he will prolly still act starved lol Mine do everyday and they are BOTH chubbers!

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | I also noticed you called your baby "mini" thats a very "touchy" subject on here using the terms teacup or mini as there are no so such things. Im totally not telling you that to be mean but just so ya know cuz some might jump all over it. Heres a small article explaining why the terms are so controversial. Im the other end of the spectrum....mine are what we call teapots lol chunky butts!! The True Teacup Yorkie Controversy Revealed

| When I got Abby she was so skinny and her poops were too!She was from a litter of 5 and being pushed away from the bowl. I fed her more and saw her poo become more solid almost overnight. I think its a good indication of them eating enough. She started gaining and growing quickly! |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Glad to hear that! I get asked all the time if my lil girl is a teacup...its weird shes not even Tiny!! Shes small but far from what I consider tiny. Id guess she is about 6 pounds right now and my boy is tipping the scale at 8 lol we are on a diet and he hates it! Was your vet able to answer your question for you?

| I have a 3 month old as well, I was told by breeder to make food available. My older yorkie Roxy (RIP) would eat like this til we moved into a household with a JRT, Max. Max would devour every bit of food in his bowl and look for more, so she learned to eat all her food in one sitting instead of munch throughout day. Oliver has Iams toy puppy food, we mix a tiny bit of wet in it for breakfast and dinner. He munches a mouthful here and there throughout the day. I also give him NutriCal after breakfast and about an hour before we go to bed.
