| I've "heard" that raw eggs are also good for their coats; is this true and do you recommend it? I recently switched my baby to Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier Puppy (she was getting Royal Canin mini puppy) but she doesn't seem to like it as much, now that it's been a couple of weeks...I'm wondering if mixing in a little egg will help make it more palatable for her. |

| Fantastic for coat quality. I can tell the difference in 24 hours after feeding.

| Awesome! Thank you so much! My parents used to mix in a raw egg for our very large Doberman's but they were also "outside dogs" and got more spontaneous exercise. Wanted to make sure it was ok with a smaller breed. I noticed your signature and I'm consulting with a vet that takes a holistic approach to animals about a raw food diet. I'm very interested in learning more about how it can help my baby girl but I can't find the thread that originally lead to me creating a profile. Thanks, again for your reply! |

| My dogs all eat a raw egg daily. We LOVE stella abd chewy's patties too. To be fair my smallest yorkie is 12.2 pounds.

| Fancy is only 3 lbs, so I think maybe I'll just use half an egg in her Royal Canin and see if she likes it. Thank you all, again for your help |

| Interesting about the eggs! I'm going to see if Jackson will eat an egg raw. He loves when I make scrambled eggs because he always gets some. Does feeding a scrambled egg not do anything for the coat? All this time I'm thinking it does... LOL... or is it just that a raw egg is a lot better in terms of coat?

Now that I am feeding "small size" eggs from pastured chickens, I am feeding the whole egg. Mind you, my dog is 3 times larger than yours, so 1/2 an egg should be fine.

Prey model advisors say up to one egg per every 3 pounds.weeks I think this is way too much too.

YT Addict | Hey wait a minute!! I am a bad yorkie mommy cuz I don't give Miles scramble eggs lol?? I did actually give him a little that was left over from the pan. Is there any nutritional value in giving them eggs on a regular basis? |

| Astronomically. Most high quality foods contain eggs. Eggs are an invaluable natural ellement in canine diets.

YT Addict | OK, I am a good doggie mom too. Just made Milsey an egg for lunch and he gobbled it up like a champ. No seasoning, just olive oil to fry it in. |

| All this egg talk! I made scrambled eggs for myself for breakfast and I gave Jackson a half of a raw egg w/o the shell... he ate it up so fast! Do you think 1 raw egg a week for a 16lb'er sounds good, or 1/2 of an egg will do?

| Eggs are a great source of protein. Yolks are fine. Given along with regular food, you may be looking at too much fat. A dog should not need egg to have a shiny coat. And any fat can have similar effects anyway. If a pup's coat is very dull, maybe a whole diet change is needed. While I'm not going to debate raw vs non raw today, here is a link to give the other side of things. PetDiets
