| I was actually just prescibed this shampoo by the dermatologist specialist at LSU vet school. I am using it on my poodle. He is having some pretty major skin problems, and from the scratching constantly, he has additionally developed a huge yeast overgrowth on his skin which has made him miserable. Their prescription was for me to bathe him twice weekly until his symptoms clam down and then I can possibly back off to once a week. You might already know this, but they also instructed me to leave it on 15 minutes prior to rinsing. Hope this helps!! Michelle and Bijoux, Bentley, and Cooper |

| yes, thanks I talked to the tech at my vet today because my Rx didn't specify. She said to try once a week and to follow up with a rich conditioner and see if this helps her symptoms. Leaving on for 15 minutes is a real challenge, I can tell you! Thank you for your reply. |

| Oh good!! I'm glad you were able to find out your specific rx bc I think it can vary according to what they are being treated for. I'm jealous bc I sooooo miss our oatmeal conditioner!!!! It had such a good smell and made his coat so soft!! But my vet had me stop anything topical other than this shampoo bc my little guy is eliminating literally everything while they are doing the three month food trial to see if he has allergies. Once he's done with this, I can't wait to be able to at least be able to add back in his aromotherapy spray. It is the best smelling spray I have ever used, and its by Pet Aromatics called Dewdrop Doggie. It's actually a really good spray with no, dyes, alcohols, etc. It's just that for him, everything has to go until we can narrow down his allergy to food. But, I wish you well with Latte, and I hope things get much better soon. What is your dog being treated for with the shampoo? Hope things get better soon!!! And lol yes, the 15 minutes is slightly challenging |

| Latte Latte had a yeast smear which didn't show yeast on her skin, but the vet said that didn't mean she didn't have it, so we're using the shampoo. She has been itchy fo quite a while now and we're on our second food elimination trial. He also tested her thyroid levels and it was low, so she's on thyroid medication. We want to see how she does and then test her blood again in 4 weeks. She's still a bit itchy...it is hard to be patient, that's for sure! |

| p.s. Honestly, I just watched her out in the back yard and I swear she scratches just to get my attention. She didn't scratch once! I tell my friends that I am not getting another dog until they breed one that can talk! |

| you're right, it is hard to be patient, but just know that you're on the right track and stay positive. glad you called and got the info on the frequency of use for the shampoo. my zowi uses a keto-tris flush/cleaning solution (contains ketoconazole like this shampoo) to prevent yeast infection from reoccuring in her ears. we do this twice a week per our vet's instructions. we have had great success and her ears look perfect. the best part is she's comfortable again and no more scratching and rubbing. you should see some improvement with the thyroid meds within a month or so. it only took a couple of weeks after starting the meds for my zowi to improve. hang in there and your sweet little latte will get better for you! you're doing a great job for her! keep us posted on how she's doing!

| LOL now wouldn't that just be wonderful!? it would make our lives (and for the drs) a lot easier! i've found myself wishing my girls could talk to me too. there's a plaque hanging in our veterinarians office that says "The best doctor in the world is a veterinarian. He can't ask his patients what is the matter - he's got to just know." i feel that's so true.

| Thank you I love that quote! I do trust my vet...I am absolutely certain that they want the best for our dogs. My husband always thinks that I talk to the vet's office too much, but that's what they're there for. I'd rather ask them and be sure than goof around on the internet and get a bunch of information that just freaks me out! Thank you again; it's hard to be patient and it helps that someone else understands. |

| patience, patience Wow! Lots of scratching this morning. She's still on a short course of cortisone I'm pretty convinced that I'm dealing with low thyroid -confirmed by bloodtest, environmental allergies and still not convinced, but trying, on the food elimination trial #2. She's all calmed down now, and fortunately not scratching her self raw. She goes to have her anals done tomorrow. She needs it every two weeks! Bless her heart, I am trying everything my vet and I can do. She doesn't go back to see him until the last week of May to check her thyroid levels. I've been reading up and she does not have symptoms of Cushings, which is what he thought might be it, too. Anyway, I appreciate the support and a place to talk. |
