| Baby Food Question I did a search before posting this question as I didn't want to duplicate something that may already be out there. I've read some of your posts where you mention giving your precious furbaby some baby food. My question is, what type of baby food are you giving? Fruit/Veggies? I want to get some to have on hand for Gage (my rescue baby) who gets the "shakes" from time to time - not as often as he used to and nutrical does the trick..but...there is no pet store close to me and if I run low and forget to order or get to the vet, it would be nice to have some baby food on hand. Just not sure what type most of you are giving and would appreciate any advice/suggestions. Thanks in advance! Suzi |

| My parent's dog had a stomach problem a while back.... The vet had them mix Chicken flavored baby food with cooked white rice until it cleared up.... It was hard getting Princess to go back to her normal dry kibble then! She would just turn up her nose as if to say "Blech, what's this stuff? Where's my baby food & rice???" I would imagine that they would prefer a meat flavor to a fruit/veggie. |

| I would get the baby food meats like turkey for my dog when she was little. Also those meat sticks for toddlers.

| Miko was really hypoglycemic when we got him and on top of that he was a very picky eater. We fed him boiled chicken and plain white rice with no seasoning and/or baby food. For baby food we fed him his favorites which were pureed chicken or chicken and rice. We fed him the two of those primarily because it includes protein and the one with rice also has carbs. The veggies alone don't provide what he would need nutritionally speaking. Although premium dog food is optimal, if you're in a bind, or you have a finicky eater, you can get them to eat by giving them that. Good luck. |

| Thank you all for the replies! I knew about boiling chicken and rice as I had to do that with my very first furbaby but in a bind, the baby food is much faster. I had never heard giving baby food until reading others post about it here and wanted more info so I didn't feed Gage the wrong thing. I've added that to my grocery list |

| My vet (A&M) advised me to keep chicken and turkey baby food on hand for Sabrina because she won't touch regular chiken and rice. Since she was little and would just go "off" food, I've found that spooning some into her helps her tummy settle (it already has rice in it) and stops most tummy upsets. She seems to be allergic to chicken (turns rusty color on her tummy) so I keep the turkey and gravy on hand. It's the gerber just plain chicken or turkey with gravy that you give to infants. It has worked really well for years now. Hope it works for you.

| I read the labels on baby food and most of the meats have onions in it, I am confused I thought they are not allowed to have onions at all? or is this a small quanity?, I like to know because I would buy some jars to keep at home... Thanks! |

| I regularly give Rowdy the toddler chicken sticks. He's a very picky eater and sometimes will not eat his kibbles - like this weekend we spent at relatives, he did not touch his kibbles. I had to hand feed him the chicken sticks. He doesn't eat much and looks so skinny that I give him the chicken sticks almost everyday.

| I gave mine Chicken with Chicken Gravy baby food when I first got her. I put it on her dry dog food which I had put in the grinder and added some water. Of course, she didn't need that long, but she loved it. Now, she just eats Little Cesars for breakfast, chicken for lunch, and dry for dinner!
