![]() I would ask your vet for recomendations on the dosage but you dont need a prescription for it. Cosequin is the most recommended brand for pets. You can also use the kind labeled for humans. But i would ask you vet what brand and dosage they recommend.

![]() When I took sonic to get his shots updated few weeks ago, he was checking his leg out, he just said he has a bad leg, didn't grade it, so I asked him what can be done he said to wait until the time comes and we will see what needs to be done, his leg don't bother him he is a very very hyper yorkie so I wanted to start giving him Glucosamine Chondroitin supplement to help with his leg and hopefully it will keep it from getting worse in the future.. I was thinking you didn't need to ask the vet since its a supplement, I will ask the vet.

| ![]() I asked Piccolo's Vet Dermatologist about the suppliment, and her opinion was it was a good idea and did not matter in which form it was given. So, I showed her the Zukes Hip Treats bag and she said that that was great. I have been giving my girls (for about two years) a half in the morning and a half in the evening and they love, love, love it. I do think it helps.

![]() I give my senior matriarch Cosequin....it moved her from barely able to get up and walk, to walking with a pep in her step, even trotting! If I mess up and run out, like I did ONE time, in the 5 days it took to get the med ordered and shipped to me, she went back down and I was having to carry her to her food and water and potty breaks....I have witnessed first hand just how great Cosequin has been for Crickette, and I always keep at least 4 bottles on hand....if they ever quit making it, I will die!

![]() I started mine on Dasuquin for preventative care. Mine are just over a year old and my little girl has clicking in her back legs. Does not slow her down know, but I know later on it most likely will. The info said there is one rare side effect - upset tummy due to avocado intolerance - both of mine ended up with upset tummies and the squirts. So, I took mine off of it and am going to try Cosequin. That said, the side effect is rare and very uncommon. I have a few friends who swear by the Dasuquin and have seem noticeable results in their senior dogs. Let us know what your vet recommends.

| ![]() Anyone recommend giving a 3 1/2 year old very active dog with no problems thus far a supplement like glucosamine... or would that just be a waste? I always wonder, because Jackson is SO active and constantly running and jumping and swimming and everything in between, if giving him something like this would help him out. Or, maybe, even just giving him a treat like this a day: Zukes Hip Action – Natural Dog Treats, Glucosamine for Dogs, Canine Chondroitin Or if it's just pointless for an active dog with no knee or joint problems.

![]() My vet recommended SYNOVIG3. I buy it from her but you can get it online also. One of my girls has a grade 3 knee. My vet said she thinks this works the best (in most cases) of things she has tried and recommended. Last edited by omega; 04-23-2012 at 06:50 PM.

![]() I've been giving Sasha Cosequin for at least 2 years now. She has never had problems with her knees (*knock on wood*) but her vet did say she has LP in one of her rear legs. It's just something that we have to watch since it's obviously not affecting her right now. Ever since that vet check-up she has been on Cosequin. I really think he makes a difference.

![]() I have a 9 month old Yorkie (4lbs) who dislocated her shoulder in December. Turns out that this is a life long chronic issue and she will limp all her life. I want to help with joint health and pain control. But I do not want to tax her liver in the long run. I heard CBD oil was good. I also heard about Honest Paws Joint support chews. Is Glucosamine dangerous? Does CBD help?

![]() My Vet Recommended DASUQUIN WITH MSM SOFT CHEWS. (You MUST GET THE ONES WITH MSM.) I Get mine at Chewy.com. I Have Had My Yorkie who is 10 years old On It For A Little Over A Year, It Really Works AND HELPS! Ask Your Vet The Dosage, You Start A Little High For the First 1-2 months (1) Small Chew, then after that, I cut mine in 1/2 and give her that 1/2 chew on a maintenance dose in the morning, you can even crumble it up and put on his/her food or leave plain in his/her bowl. My little girl loves the taste and even reminds me !
