| I use coconut oil and the smell makes me a little sick. Too strong and no, it doesn't smell like pina colada and that's too bad lol I have used it on Sheldon's hair after he is all dry and brushed. The funny part is that he doesn't seem to be too itchy. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I know, some suntan lotions have coconut oil and smell so wonderful I was hoping it would smell like that.

| I get the salmon oil at PetSmart. It is actually made by GNC for dogs. It doesn't smell bad at all, which I was very surprised at. If she gets any in her face hairs, I just put ice cubes in her water and she "washes" her face searching for the ice cubes to chew on. Then I play with her with an old white sock and kind of wipe her face while we play. It gets any of the fishy smell off her. I have to fake her out to clean her face. LOL I also give her the Nylabone greenies and spray her mouth with this all natural tarter, plaque and breath spray. I have to wait till she is sleeping on my lap to spray the stuff on her teeth. Again, the fake out. BUT, it takes care of the fishy smell. |

| I have to fake her out to clean her face. LOL hahaha, that was funny. Just wanted to let you know I gave Sheldon a bath today, made sure I rinsed both shampoo and conditioner really well. He has no flakes and his skin isn't dry Note to self...never use regular conditioner as a leave in. Thank you all so much for all the suggestions |

Riley gets environmental allergies, and I have been putting Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet once a day. I had the liquid and then was given a bottle of the pills. I just snip the end of the pill and squeeze it on his food. CNGJqZKbpq8CFcJM4AoduwvEYA Nordic Naturals for Dogs at Only Natural Pet Store I also have a bottle of Nutiva Coconut Oil that I got from GNC..... I will sometimes put some on a cotton ball and wipe Riley's tummy with it.... but his vet told me that it is better to treat his dry skin from the inside out.... He told me to use the pills. https://store.nutiva.com/coconut-oil...FcXc4AodTynaXg | |

| Hmmm, my coconut oil came from the indian store. I have to put it in the microwave because it gets hard when is cold. @RileyDC, I think that leaving some conditioner cause the trouble. I think I am going to get some of those oil pills. Some one also said the use flax seeds. |

| O.K. so is it me or are "allergies" the new thing today for dogs. Since when did dogs and even people have so many allergies? How did we and our canine friends survive years ago without this allergy diagnosis? |

| Flaky dry skin?? I had the same problem. I bathed BJ Saturday and when I brushed her before her bath i saw all these white flaky pieces. Vet told me the first time he saw that she had fleas. Scared me to death but he treated her and I still have more. I am in Ohio and we have had to turn heat on and off. Also, I did not use a conditioner. I need to change shampoos anyway and there are so many. I read on lady even used Wen. So many decisions. |
