| Yummo, Cheerios! Ok, normally I hang around in the emergency issues area of the forums, but I have a question..... I have 5 adults ranging in ages of 14 to 3. My 14 year old is toothless. He is thriving, but we have discovered that he loves cherrios as a snack before bedtime. he actually puts his nose in the bowl and doesn't come up until they are gone. Normally he is hand fed soft food. Does anyone have a suggestion for a commercial dog food that is the same size, shape and texture of cheerios? I have seen one in the past, I think it was Nutro puppy rice and lamb. Is it ok to just contiue the cheerio snack for a senior that we rescued and have absolutely spoiled in the 5 months that we have had him? I posted in the emergency threads about a mauling he experienced in November. He is absoulutely recovered and thriving! |

| SSorry to not be helpfulbas to what you are asking, but I have a question of my own. Is it just plain cheerios that are okay to give to yorkies as a treat? I have seen many people mention them..is it regular or honey nut cheerios? Also glad to hear he is recovering well

| We give our cheerios, but not everyday. We also have a 14yr. old that I would not give them to her because I am afraid of her choking. |

| I give them plain Cheerios as a treat. One pup I know of had a reaction to the Multigrain Cheerios, so I'm hesitant to try the other flavors, also want to limit the amount of sugars they get. My 15 year old loves them.

| I think Cheerios are fine, but would only give the plain Cheerios. I have used them as training treats for puppies and for occasional treats for my dogs before.

| Thanks for the helpful info. As a comical update, Tinker is like a hoover when it comes to food. No teeth, but a healthy appetite. The cheerios are a quick treat to help him feel included when the rest of the pack is getting a treat. I love, love, love my fur babies!! |
