| Blue Buffalo question Blue buffalo has come out with a new dog food called Blue Freedom does any one know what the deference is between the new Blue Freedom small breed and then the Blue Buffalo Wilderness small breed? Both are grain free.

| It looks like the protein content is much lower in the Freedom. Some people are very concerned about protein in dog food. Really it depends on the quality of the protein and the source. Can't really tell by looking at that list. |

| Where ever you buy the freedom at it is a guaranteed food from same company if after you try it and your baby does not like it you simply return unused portion and they will give you full refund. Thats what I was told by there rep. The rep also told me vitiman taste in darker pellets dogs seem to eat better it is more palatable. Hope that helps. Protein ratio is lower maybe better choice?

| When we talked to the rep near us he said that unless our yorkies were pretty active, the wilderness was not that good for them. He recommended the basics salmon for them since it has more of the Omega 3's for the joints of small dogs. The basics are also good for those with sensitive tummies as they only have 2 main ingredients. For canned though he said to do the wilderness as a supplement only until the cans of basics come out in a few weeks since it was the best wet food they had at the time. |

| I don't think I am going to switch sense she is eating the wilderness pretty good right now and it took forever to find a food she would eat decently and she seems to not be having any problems. But thank you everyone.

| I think just the protein content is higher in the Wilderness than in the Freedom formulas. The last time I was in petsmart picking up some Wilderness for Sasha, I noticed there were several new formulas and varieties for Blue Buffalo. Freedom definitely caught my eye since it was grain free and I've always been a huge fan of grain free foods. The only difference I seemed to find was the protein. Wilderness works well for Sasha though so I plan on continuing to use that. |

| If I fed BB, I'd be choosing the lower protein option for my dogs.
