Might look again tomorrow. Sometimes it is impossible to sit outside.

| I'm pretty sure that KJC is up on this stuff - you may wish to PM her. I think (can't be sure tho) I remember her discussing it at some point when Peek-a-Boo had that fly bot. I know it was a blend of essential herbs and oils to ward off the flies, but can't be sure about the mosquitos. I have several natural green books here and I'll take a look and see if there are any recommendations. We hardly get mosquitoes here but they do happen and we still are on yearly HW prevention.

Lemon extract in cans of water placed around your patio will help too. We use the citronella candles in a shallow dish with a little water in the dish and a few drops of lemon extract (baking aisle). That stuff goes a long way. I love the lemon grass in small moveable containers. If you move your seating area, you can move your lemon grass. If you brush up against it, it release the smell and is glorious on a cool spring night. Rub a blade on you hands and run your hands over your arms, legs, clothes, hair, and even the babies! Or pinion wood. We have a chiminea and light it, even on warm nights-the scent deters any bugs, even those pesky no-see-ums. We sit away from it, so we aren't hot, but the smoke covers a large area.

| Deet free natural repellant Homemade Mosquito Repellent | eHow.com I imagine this could be put in dishes on tables, railings etc. Essential oils such as lemon balm (citronella), pennyroyal, lavender, and rose geranium. Apple cider vinegar can be rubbed on the skin, also drank (by humans and dogs) to help repel bugs. Wash before and after spending time outdoors. Rose geranium on the dogs collar is good to repel ticks. Homemade traps for Mosquitos and other insects Pesky Pests: Easy Homemade Mosquito and Insect Traps and Repellent | Wise Bread

show me one post where somebody states they forego heartworm meds? it has nothing to do with that, so why interject? above all, why do it in such a antagonistic way? I was trying to find a simple website. I wish the mosquito trap worked here. | |
