| allergic to fish? My vet had recommended fish years ago for Latte. I have never read that it was a protein that dogs are typically allergic to. Has anyone had a problem with fish? |

| Chicken is the #1 food allergen in small dogs, then beef, I think. As fish is less commonly used in foods... well now it's becoming more common, it will be less likely to cause an allergic reaction. Another thing to consider, if using processed dog kibble, are the presevatives used on the meat product as well. Some pups are allergic to chicken based dog food, but are fine with home cooked chicken. I have heard of a few dogs that have a problem with fish, but not many....

| Thanks-super-helpful! I agree-chicken was Latte's problem and I think preservatives. I have been feeding her the Blue Buffalo brand turkey and potato and it is free of everything! (I am surprised it's not invisible!) She still has fish with it. Thank you very much!! |
