Chicken is the #1 food allergen in small dogs, then beef, I think. As fish is less commonly used in foods... well now it's becoming more common, it will be less likely to cause an allergic reaction.
Another thing to consider, if using processed dog kibble, are the presevatives used on the meat product as well. Some pups are allergic to chicken based dog food, but are fine with home cooked chicken.
I have heard of a few dogs that have a problem with fish, but not many.... |
