| Anal Sac ISsue So, my dog went to the vet and had his anal sacs expressed. The vet said they were full and starting to get infected. He gave him a 10 day antibiotic and anti-imflamatory . My question is...hes on his 3 day of meds...and I just caught him sliding his butt on the ground. Should I be concerned?

| I'd have the vet re-evaluate if your pup is still scooting after the antibiotics. Even after emptying, they can still be irritated, so pups sometimes continue to scoot.

| The antibiotics are for 10 days? It's only been 3 so far...wait 10 and see what happens?

| That's really up to you. You should do what you are most comfortable with. If it looks worse, is causing more of an issue than before the antibiotics were prescribed, or your pup is in pain, then an immediate vet check would be indicated. If there is just a little bit of scooting, it probably isn't a big deal. Lots of dogs scoot after they get their anals expressed. How is is looking back there? It has only been three days - not long enough to really know if they are not going to work.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I really recommend a good phone relatinship with your vet, this is the sort of thing you can ask him and he knows what questions to ask you to see if the dog needs to been seen again.
