| disgusting breath! Poppy is 6 months now, and her breath is getting worse and worse! Why is it so horrible?! She is on Orijen puppy kibble, and doesn't get anything bad to eat. Could it be because she is teething? I hope it improves! |

No Longer a Member | what are you using for teeth cleaning? brushing, petzlife, anything at all? Its possible that she has tarter build up (happens quick on small dogs). Give a quick look at her teeth, that may be the problem. |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Well I'm newer to the world of Yorkies and my Katie Scarlett is only 4 1/2 months old, but so far we have been pleasantly surprised at how good her breath smells. It is so weird that we say it like that, but it's true. We brush her teeth every night before bed time with doggie toothpaste. We were using the chicken flavor, but now use a minty flavor. She seems to like it and her breath is good so far. I know I saw like doggy mints next to the toothpaste section at PetSmart. I'm not sure how those are though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

| Thank you, her teeth look lovely and white, and yes, I use a bristle tooth brush with chicken toothpaste every day to clean her teeth! |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | check her teeth, also digestive problems can cause bad breath, once you had her check for those posible problems with your vet, you can start an oral care plan, I do brush their teeth twice a week and use the gel or spray every day, the ones from Petzlife. I never had a bad breath problem with my dogs.. Best of luck with your baby.. hugs |

No Longer a Member | Rizzo's beard has a tendency to get real stinky sometimes. I used to think it was his breath but I keep his teeth cleaned so I couldnt figure it out until I smelled just the hair on his face, lol. How long is her beard? sometimes food & water get on there and after a while it just gets smelly. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | When they are losing their teeth and growing the adult teeth, they go through a period where their breath smells stinky. Now is a good time to get them use to the toothbrush! Start with very short sessions.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Taycie's breath started to smell right before I had her retained puppy teeth pulled when she was spayed. Once they were out, her breath has been great. I brush morning and night with C.E.T toothpaste I get from my vet. I like the vanilla mint.

| Thanks for all the replies! I'm hoping it is just her teething phase! I hate the smell of the CET poultry toothpaste I use, and I've looked for the vanilla mint one, but can't find it over here in the UK! Think I'm going to have to change brands. Her beard isn't long, as she isn't a full Yorkie, she has Chihuahua in her. |

| Her back teeth are very loose, and bleed a little when I brush them. I think they really need to come out, some of them are almost sideways they'e so loose! |

| Hi! My Bailey was eating Orijen puppy and her breath was just terrible. She smelled like she was eating poo. I switched to Go! And it is much better. |

| Thanks, Poppy has now lost all her baby teeth, and her breath is now fine! I'm so relieved as it was terrible! I brush her teeth every day with Logic, and she has a mouth rinse from the vet too! So glad I can kiss her again!!! |
