| Liver treats I dehydrate calves liver and make treats for my Yorkie. She's 12 lbs. and loves the treats. I was wondering if there is a possible health issue by her eating too much liver. She eats about 1 lb. of treats a week. |

| That sounds like alot. I feed about 10 grams of liver (about the size of a quarter) per day to a comparably sized dog, and I am not making the weight adjustment due to dehydrating. All I can say is, if I were to feed 1 lb of liver per week, I would immediately know it was too much by loose stool. My advice would be to cut that down to something like a maximum of 10% of weekly feeding. I would also suggest possibly dehydrating chicken and using that for treats as well, as it won't be quite so rich. It's commendable that you are making your own treats.

One pound of any treat for a Yorkie is too much per week.

Possibly someone may be more familiar with dehydrated liver vs. fresh liver than I am, though, it really sounds like 1lb of fresh liver would be an excessive amount to feed weekly.
